Barry better not find out

Last week I had my first chance to have medical care at the VA hospital that exceeded the normal oil changes and lube jobs. I had some minor work done on my eyelid to correct damage that I received while in basic training due to an illness. I was impressed with the service and professional attitude I encountered during that day.

There was one thing that happened that day that Barry had better never find out about considering his attitude towards prayer.

The VA has a Chaplin on duty in the prep room. He went from bed to bed talking to those waiting for their surgery. He seemed a very happy man, who enjoyed serving the needs of others. He must not have been a "liberal" Chaplin since he had a real sense of humor and joked around with everyone in the place.

He came to my bed and talked with me. He asked me about my military service, what branch, my MOS and other general chit chat. He talked with me for about 10 minutes.

Then he asked if I wanted him to say a prayer for me. Imagine that, prayer on a U.S. government property. Jail is in his future for sure. I smiled and said: My wife and I prayed this morning but would take any spares that he might have, I need all the help I can get." He laughed a deep, hearty laugh, prayed with me, blessed me and moved on to the next victim.

It was a wonderful experience. Something Barry seems not to like. Most leftist don't.
