I took and passed the knowlegdge part for the CDL-B test permit the first time.
I then failed the air brake test 3 times..
My question is how many people have taken this part of the test more than once.

Just to make a note..I have driven under cdl staights for many years that had airbrakes. Now they are saying once I pass the skills test I will not be able to even drive a none cdl with airbrakes even tho I drivem them with my normal liense herer in Pa. I think the guy just does not know the rules exactly.

If you don't have a CDL, you can drive a non-CDL truck with air brakes, no problem.

However, if you have a Class A or a Class B CDL, your license will automatically have an Air Brake Restriction ("L" in most states). You must past the written test on Air Brakes to have the restriction removed. If you have a CDL with an Air Brake Restriction, the restriction prevents you from operating any vehicle with air brakes, even a car with air brakes (if there were cars with air brakes).

As for how many people have had to take the air brake test more than once, none. You're the first one to have ever failed it. :D
