ACORN disbanding

The once mighty community activist group ACORN announced Monday it is folding amid falling revenues _ six months after video footage emerged showing some of its workers giving tax tips to conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute.

"It's really declining revenue in the face of a series of attacks from partisan operatives and right-wing activists that have taken away our ability to raise the resources we need," ACORN spokesman Kevin Whelan said.

Several of its largest affiliates, including ACORN New York and ACORN California, broke away this year and changed their names in a bid to ditch the tarnished image of their parent organization and restore revenue that ran dry in the wake of the video scandal.

Key is to keep on eye on them...they only have 6794 (i made that # on) different groups that they can come back under...don't think for a minute they will just go away....they will be back, and barry will help them...his justice dept just said yesterday that it is now ok for the government to start giving them funding again......that was after they said they were going to file BK....

Look this means little.

The laws are clear, they can dissolve ACORN but the funds and donations can be folded into another organization which can be either a start up or a like organization - which I think they have already.
