About Panther's home time...refusals did count aga

I just got a chance to check the Panther website and yep, a few of those loads that we refused (while on the get home list) counted against us. How can we fix that? We refused 4 but only 2 of them show as a refusal? Our acceptance rating is still in above 90% should I even worry about it?

To me it's the Principal of the policy and I would argue for yourself. If a Company is not going to live up to their policies why should you stay on. The policy you are questioning was probably set up to help recruiting so Panther should live up to it.

Thats not so bad we had three different loads they counted against us twice each. Plus there was a cancled load they didn't bother to tell us it canceled and just said we refused the offer. So our rating is around a 58% we just gave up fighting dispatch. One offer they called us at three in the morning 16 hours before the pickup and gave us a negative for refusing a 250 mile run with a 450 DH. We figure with these kind of offers there is no way we could keep a high rating. No telling what kind of rating we had with conway, we would just laugh and hang up at some of the offers.
Good luck.

Just call in and choose the driver hotline choice. They should take care of it for you.

only a couple times have they taken the rufusal away...90% of my refusals are because i have to head home for the military duty, which is averaging 1.5 weekends a month, my in service rating gets slaughtered also, 18 days at summer camp, get the next week off and drill the following weekend, had drill this past weekend and deadheaded 626 miles from knoxville to ionia mich, this is the norm not the exception, ive explained to panther that they can not legally punish me such as counting military time as vacation time, but they just dont get it..so i talked to my unit officer on this, and he put me in contact with the national committee for esgr in arlington va, will they correct this problem?? you bet they will, i have not submitted any paperwork on it yet, however we all no that being inservice and acceptance is the key to the good loads. the dispatchers do not see or chose not to see that your name is highlighted as home time, your refusal of the load going the opposite direction as to where you need to go means nothing to them. been doing this for about 18 months now, and havent had a vacation yet, but if you were to look at my in service you would think i was on vacation every month..

Is that a classic Catch 22, or what? Turn down the loads that don't make money, get passed over for the loads that do...

Policy (s)!!! What Policies? Every day a supposed policy has to be reinvented, argued, changed at will by whomever. I.E. NYC policy, one trip you get the NYC or East Coast premium, the next load you are told "send in your toll receipts, we'll reimburse you". One day you are offered an oversized van load (a std van load is 48x48x48 times two and 2000 lbs) Any thing over that, the customer gets charged for a straight truck load...but we are told NO you cannot get more money for the load, your van is rated to take X amount of weight. Then in another instant, you can negotiate a higher rate, and get it...(yes I know, you are probably the only large van in the area) Today you may get a refusal for a bogus load that is out more than 8 hours, or a pre-dispatched load etc etc, and tomorrow you won't get a refusal for the same reasons! My POINT is, there are no Policies, there are no standard rules by which we can measure, expect, or rely on. This is an area in my opinion that needs a whole lot of work. Lack of In Place policies, leaves one wondering, frustrated, suspicious and doubting the integrity of the company! Okay, off my soapbox, back in bed.............nite
