It was 38 years ago today that the "Gales of November" on the Great Lakes took another ship and 29 more lives. The Edmund Fitzgerald went down on Lake Superior. I watched that boat on the "River" many times when fishing out there and my brother unloaded her a couple of time when he was at Great Lakes Steel. At the time of her sinking she was the largest bulk carrier on the Lakes.
