Ahhh, my favorite time of the year, the July shut downs
Although, it's not the same as in the past, it's still a thing, and I'm definitely feeling it.
Haven't been able to secure a load all week. Been getting screwed by some low ball offers that I refused, that should never of been sent.
Just got a load, got to go. bye ;)

Dateline: Indiana....Waiting for a load that makes sense.

South West of Indy in a town I've never heard of and not sure how to pronounce :)

Lost my position because I turned down an offer dead heading 3 hrs away, which destroyed my profit margin. If I was still in a Sprinter that rate would have been fine haha. The position loss wasn't that big of a deal since I had the lowest amount of sitting time anyways. I must of been the only unit in the area that had a load on Friday haha. Until I see a reason to move, I'll just stay put. No need to go anywhere if other units with more time are sitting where I what to go.

It's been hot and humid and I'm not even that far south. Not enjoying this at all. I gained 30 pounds since I got this straight truck last year and I'm really feeling it. I have zero tolerance for heat right now and my allergies have been off the chart. Thank god I have an APU with A/C or I'd be completely miserable.
...Wonder if I can convert this truck to a party limo bus lol.

Normally I would turn down a load like this, but decided to go sight seeing to Denver Colorado, delivers Monday so no rush. It's been a really long time since I've been to Denver, and 1st time in the straight truck. With 90F temps, Hopefully, no snow issues lol.

Camping out 75 miles from Denver. I thought Michigan roads were bad. I-70 West from Colorado Line to here are just horrible. Almost as bad as the Truck stops. Won't have much time for sight seeing in Denver, Got a surprise load out of Denver after I deliver going down to New Mexico. That should be interesting. Delivering to a new construction on a indian preserve..hmmm, Casino haha.

This midwest trip has been interesting. Pretty sick of mountain driving and no grass for my dog. After my drop in new mexico. I planned on dead heading back east. But got a load out of El Paso going to Louisville, Ky for Monday delivery.

Despite being July and being out west, this has been a very profitable month…knock on wood. Definitely, was hitting the old right place, right time thing. I expected July to be my worst month so far. I took the 1st 10 days off and already have my most profitable month since I switched to straight truck. Sadly, that’s still not saying a lot.

It’s not all Rosie, I have some maintenance issues I’m monitoring that could derail things, but this is where it stands today.

While in El Paso, I got a great picture of Max that I will be turning in to a portrait or canvas, probably both.IMG_6055.jpeg

Let's see, the rolling continues. George town KY to dahlren (where?) IL. Poseyville (Where? lol) IN. to KC. ----Seriously, hitting places I have never heard of before haha. Broke all records and did it in 19 days in July. Never saw that coming. 1st time in a week I haven't been pre-planned. Maybe I can get a little rest now. This is starting to feel way too much like work haha.

As good as July was, 1 good month doesn't erase 9 months of a roller coaster ride that leaves me no better off then when I started straight truck. Overall, I'm no better off financially than I was in my Sprinter. At least with that I was home everyday. But if I wanted or had to be OTR, this is the way to go.

I just took 9-10 days off at home. I was back in-service last night, then went out of service. Last week my fantasic vent fan started to only work on low speed, which pretty much doesn't suck in any air through the window. Problem is I have never had the remote for it and that's the only way to control it. It was last set to suck air out the roof on high, which worked fine when you opened the vent. But that changed last week, unless it's broke, it switched to low speed for some reason.

I was looking into replacement options when I thought to see if I could order a new remote for it. Sure enough, there was one on Amazon for my model and it would be delivered today. So ordered it and went back out of service to wait for it.

It would be "fantasic" if it actually worked. Can't believe I never thought to look. There looks to be something missing from my fan that has a piece of tape over it. Don't know what that's about, but I hope it doesn't interfer with the remote working.

A side from that, I spent a lot of my time off researching trucking companys, for a last ditch effort to get back into semi driving. For my situation and with a dog, finding the right fit has been difficult to say the least. My short list keeps getting shorter. Pretty much down to a 10% chance anything will change.

Oh, after all my long driving I did in July, I ended up with a pain between shoulder blades right over my spine. I have to believe this was just from some really bad posture driving as I don't remember doing anything to cause it. If it doesn't improve over the next couple of weeks, I'll get it checked out. It seems to very slowly be improving and much better then when it started. I seem to hurt myself on every road trip without knowing how I did it. And healing seems to take a long time. Last time I hurt my leg and back, it took over a month for that to heal.
