My 258 just threw a def code. Says change def to normal one with engine off and engine key on. How can I fix this?

Well, if you accidentally put something other than DEF in the tank, turn the key on, drain the tank, and put at least two gallons in it.

If not, the DEF quality sensor probably took a dump. It'll soon go into a pretty serious limp mode.

At this point a dealer is likely the best place to take it. If it sets codes or goes into limp mode, dealer software will be needed to reset everything.
