Hello folks!

I am a complete newbie.

I want to start a service and medical equiqment delivery business.

I have an oppurtunity to purchase a 2004 Mitsubishi Fuso FE649 15' box truck with 170k miles from my company. This truck has not been started in 2 years because the company subs deliveries. It has a lift gate and side door access. It ran great before it was shut down.

They are asking $5700 for it. I was hoping to get it for $3k considering it has not run in 2 years, has a minor transmission leak, some rust and will need new batteries.

What is a reasonable price?

Thanks for your opinion.

One of our customers has an older Mitsubishi. Its got around 650k miles. It runs great. The problem is that they are much less common than other trucks, so you might struggle to find competent mechanics to work on it. I spent several hours replacing all the brake lines with Nicopp tubing because all the lines were super rusty. And like many Japanese trucks of that era, the brakes are a challenge to work on. I can't really comment on price. Other than that, there are certainly worse trucks out there, and I'd choose this over many others.
