    Dt466 oil leak mystery

Pretty sure it's the flux capacitator. Unless you have a spare Delorian laying around for parts I suggest you bypass main transdimensinal diffuser through the secondary plutonium worm hole generation coupling. If you still have loss of oil then it has to be from the gravitation localizing...

99 IH 4700 Driveshaft / Axle Placement questions

I had one of these trucks years ago. It was a FL-70 with a 24' dumping bed. I had used a few before I bought this truck as a Cab and Chassis. I used it to mainly haul building materials and steel. I cant remember what the wheel base or Cab to axle was off my head but I do remember that I had...

Cat to Cummins swap - Need info help!

Mine were stamped Navistar, when you get your next shippment of yellow chineese junk look again! I am aware that navistar made diesel engines for ford and ford really did not design it but I just wanted to throw it in there since I was having bad experiences with ford as well. As far as...

My Air compressor governor keeps freezing (3126 setup)

A comonly overlooked problem is a missing wet tank between the pump and drier. Some trucks, especially those bought farther south, often don't come with one. While changing the compressor will solve the problem, it will be a short lived resolve. I have bought two trucks that I had to ad an...

Cat to Cummins swap - Need info help!

Guido, I cant agree with you more, it is my fault I did not research enough into the mechanics of this motor. Now, to claim I have no one to blame but myself would be a stretch. Afterall, I didnt design or market the C7. Nor do the truck manufacturers utalize my imput on which engines they...

    fuel additives

MXZ, I use Power Service in all my engines year round. (Cummins, Mack, CAT and International). Its not really a winterization thing with the Cummins or Mack since they return so much fuel that the fuel tanks are always hot. But, the CAT and International dont seem to return any fuel as the...

    Miles for new valves

Is you Hino between an 03 and 05 model year? There were manufacturing issues with heads through these years due to manufacturing being jobbed out to the cheapest bidder. Casting imperfectins caused hairline cracks that did what you are saying. Causing valves to go bad from the heat and carbon...

    Air compressor CAT 3126

I agree with you slo-ride. Ive replaced the unloader valves before. Only $23 for the two unloader valves and I didnt need a gasket. Also, its a quick repair compared to pulling the compressor and power steering pump.

Cat to Cummins swap - Need info help!

at this point I dont care anymore. I'd just eat the $$ for the satisfaction of knowing that CAT wouldnt make a Cent on parts from this engine ever again! Can you believe they wont even get back to me? As you can tell Im a humble person, only wanted to make a few points.

    Best Mattress ?

Id have to agree with you, those memory foam matresses arent made for trucks. If you have a slight vibration you will feel it while you TRY to sleep with the memory foam. It just transfers to much. I ordered one off amazon (extra long twin). It was a number 4 if I remember right. I dealt...

    13 speed transmission

even though it only has 44,000 miles, that doesnt mean everything is good yet but in this case, everything is like new yet. Motor mounts are good. I was going to change the harmonic balancer just to satisfy my curiosity but it is a fluid balancer and I never heard of one of those going bad...

    stretching a class8

notanewbie, that would work on older trucks but with the newer trucks they use multiplex wiring or optics to control electronic valve banks to dump air, activate abs, interaxle lock, etc. You need the wiring harness extension to make it work. Plus it is sealed meaning a problem free solution...

    13 speed transmission

did everything you guys mentioned. It is a new trans behind a c7 (second one actually, the first did the same thing so I thought it was bad). Driveshafts were balanced seperately and then checked as a rotating assembly for balance.

    13 speed transmission

So I took out my RTF-8709B transmission and installed a RTLOF-16713A transmission as I have done in all my trucks (44K miles on 9 speed if anyone is interested) and I have a grinding noise when under load between 1400 and 1550 rpms. Rear ends are good, not even a trace of filings on the...

    stretching a class8

Stretch for just the chassis will depend on how much longer you want to stretch it. How much frame needs to be added? How many driveshafts need to be made and carriers installed? wiring harness extenders? Air lines extended? I do my stretches in house but I have had quotes before to see...

    Maintenance

I do all of maintenance and major repairs myself. I completely agree with retidepxe that repair shops miss grease zerks, on purpose because they are to lazy to wiggle the end of the grease gun in hard to reach places, and yes, I too have to wonder what is up with getting a piece of equipment...
