    Music

Boston's self-titled first album, Boston  Always reminds me of summer and days of mis-spent youth, lol.

Gettysburg, PA: A Great Expediter Tourist Stop

States rights and slavery, in this case inseparable. Pretty much all to do with slavery. But again, as in most things, the main cause of the war was economic.

    Early Fall

We traveled on the PA Turnpike on Tuesday, and you're right about the leaves. Even though it was pouring rain, we still noticed how beautiful they were. Hope we have many days to view them, as we all know what follows ;)

Gettysburg, PA: A Great Expediter Tourist Stop

The "Rebels" would have most likely considered themselves Virginians, Texans, Georgians or what ever state they were from, rather than Americans.

Gettysburg, PA: A Great Expediter Tourist Stop

Gettysburg is an amazing place. We spent a Sunday there last year while getting the truck worked on in Carlisle. We started off the day by attending Christ Lutheran Church downtown. They have a memorial on the front steps marking the place where a Chaplin died during the fighting. A sobering...

    Stupid Road Signs

My wife and I get a laugh out of "silly" signs all over the country. Having worked in education (government) for many years, one thing is certain; if there is a sign, there is a reason for. Sometime in the past, someone did the behavior the sign is warning against, lol.

    Stupid Road Signs

Us 93 between Phoenix and Kingman, AZ. Large billboard in the middle of nowhere that simply states, "NOTHING" Have a pic of that somewhere. Will try to dig that one up, later.

Muslim Jesse Curtis Morton jailed over South Park death threats

On the point of a humorless Lord, I ran across this, http://www.valleycovenant.org/sermons/genius/genius6.htm. I for one certainly hope God has a great sense of humor :)

Muslim Jesse Curtis Morton jailed over South Park death threats

Jesus is alive today :) If he were here walking the earth in human form, as in New Testament times, no he would not. I have a feeling he would be greatly disappointed in his "church" and in the hatred shown others in his name. We were and never will be deserving of his love. I once saw a...

    What's your best Sunset Picture?

My wife took this from her Mom and Dad's backyard about 2 weeks ago while we were home. Didn't really notice the whole "dove/angel" thing until later. :) Still, pretty cool looking.

Ice Road Trucking in Harlan, Ky.... how coal gets to market

My Dad was born in Hazard, and spent his first years in the Blue Diamond camp. Grandpa and his brothers were miners. Dad was driving a coal truck when he was 13! Different world.

    Truckstop Lightshow

If you look real close, you can see some of the "gunk" that was on the windshield. Was holding the camera on the steering wheel. Left the shutter open for about 1.5 seconds. The other 40 or so I tried to take don't look so good lol.

    Starving this year?

We drive one. We're quite satisfied. I might be mistaken, but I think the ones that came over from E-1 and Panther were all surface trucks. I thought most of the ones that left the Fed were WG / TVAL? All of the ones we have ran into were surface trucks, and some were solos.

    Starving this year?

December was our best month so far. From Dec.1 - Dec. 22, we ran 13 loads, 6611 loaded miles, 8526 dispatched miles. (We deadheaded 650 miles into Florida for one load, but we had reasons - got to see our son, who we hadn't seen in several months.) We were also off for 4 of those days. 11 of...

    Mc Donald's around the world

We often stop at the McDonalds at exit 64 (Lincoln) on the QEW on our way back from Toronto. Their apple pies taste different (much better) than the ones we have here in the states. At least there is one thing to look forward to with Canadian loads. Nothing wrong with Canada mind you, just the...

    Fall and Winter Together

Not the greatest (taken through our somewhat clean windshield), but a interesting sight. Fall on one side of the road, and Winter on the other. Taken along the western Mass. Turnpike 10/28/2011.
