Brings back memories - used to travel that area extensively in the mid 1970s. The people and the geography leave a lasting impression. Used to have some really good B&W photos of the mining areas in the Hazard and Harlan areas, plus some from around Logan and Williamson, WV. In a political season one wonders why some of our erstwhile politicians don't do more to make it possible to harvest the coal and natural gas in these areas. That's the only hope to alleviate the poverty that's always plagued this pocket of Appalachia.
