    Generator question

You can pick up a kill-a-watt for around $20 and see what's happening load-wise. Kill-A-Watt Electricity Monitor-P4400 at The Home Depot My hunch is Turtle is right and the a/c is just getting old or needs service. I've got the same gen and it starts and runs my (new) 8,000 btu a/c in eco mode.

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

Exactly. But doing it yourself usually requires a little ingenuity, and that's the fun part. Maybe not at the moment :) , but later on when you look back on it.

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

I like checking out vans for how they employ "hillbilly" APU setups. Not joking - I love that stuff. Generator in a box up front, a/c unit sticking out of the roof right in front of a satellite dish and fantastic fan. Some kind of discharge hose thingy hookup on the side. Hmmm Wonder what...

Do cargo vans even have any sort of future in expediting?

The fact that you van guys fly under the radar like you do I think will keep you valuable. But it might just be that I notice more since I've been hanging around this forum, but aren't there an awful lot of vans out there? I pull into a truck stop there's a few out front. I stop at Home Depot...

At today's fuel prices, how much would the fsc be? Btw, FDCC means FedEx?

    Considerations...

A manual shift transmission. I like automatics in cars. Point and go. But in a truck I prefer to make the call about what gear I should be in.

A chair for on a box

Sorry, didn't mean to start a thread only to ignore it. Been working like a dog lately. Thx Xiggi. I picked one up today. Same price - virtually identical seat - different brand. It's not great, but it's a way bigger step up from awful than the stadium seat. At < $40 it's a pretty good...

A chair for on a box

I've got a plywood box in my truck that I use for storage that I'd love to have do double duty and be a chair on command. So I bought this: Amazon.com: Markwort Patented Deluxe Wide Model Stadiumchair (Black): Sports & Outdoors It's not awful. It's almost awful. (I have no idea why it got...

FL 70 dual fuel tanks, problems ???

This was in an International not an FL70 but I ran out of fuel once even though my rh tank was at least half full. This happened right after I had some transmission work done so I guessed that maybe the mechanics were bumping into fuel lines around the tranny. I tightened a few connections...

Do you balance your straight truck tires?

I just got some front end work done on my straight and put some pretty good steers on, pretty expensive at any rate. I thought the tire guy knew he was supposed to balance them and I should have checked. Anyway, they didn't get balanced but the 70 mile ride home was nice and smooth. $1100...

    Best weather app for expediting

I use Weatherbug. It's good. It does crash sometimes but that's probably due to my phone being 4 years and and runs an ancient version of android. You asked specifically about nationwide maps. Weatherbug allows you to save cities (think bookmarks). So you could save KC and zoom out a few of...

    Who hates their Honda generator?

    Who hates their Honda generator?

I've given that considerable thought, and keep in mind that few things give me as much joy as a good rig, but it'd be tough. The choke could be done with a hood release cable. The rope would involve a pulley or two. And now the gen needs to be kept stationary in the toolbox in exactly the...
