Who told you that? Currently, freight volumes are down 50-75 percent.

A carrier might except that explanation of how it happened, but they're not gonna bring on a van that looks like that. Too many shippers won't put freight on a van that looks like that. One lokk at that van and they'll think, "My freight is toast."

Somebody is gonna want to know how that happened.

True. But I well remember with Panther that if you're on the fringes, you'll sit, but you're still more likely to get those 3 loads that week and end up with 1500 miles or more for the week. Sitting in that Midwest hell Bullseye and you can end up with 500 miles for the week on those three...

Who has like nine million vans in a 300-500 mile radius of South Bend, which dramatically increases the potential wait time. You run a load from Chicago to Indy, sit 2 days, run one from Indy to Dayton, sit 2 days, then get a big weekend load from Dayton to Ft Wayne. If you wanna make money...

My observation is that even after 2 years with FedEx he hasn't bothered to learn more about expediting. If you don't learn anything in 2 years, you should at least learn that chasing freight is a waste of time and money. I can also observe that he joined EO in January, too start this thread, and...

Every load is a separate load contract in which specific terms and conditions are agreed to by both parties. You can't unilaterally change those terms any more than they can. If, after you deliver a load, you ask for more money for that load, they're going to tell you "no," and that you agreed...

The first step is to read these forums a lot, and go to truck stops and talk to expediters.

There is a classified section here on EO that has a place specifically for drivers looking for work. You will have much better success posting there than here.
