    Where's those Fedex logos?

I run top of the line equipment and fedex puts the logos on my trucks so it's not entirely that, but they are accepting trucks that a couple years ago would've required you to have a "business discussion" with them.

    Becoming a Fleet Owner

Be prepared to pay to work for your carrier some weeks. It's a yearly profit your after, some weeks your net will be negative, sometimes very negative. But over the year you should turn a profit. I'm very picky with who I contract with to drive my trucks, I recommend you be the same. That said...

I do like the buffets at petro!

I want to become a straight truck O/O

Average is subjective and running a growing business is not about the toys. I actually have less toys than I did before I started my company. My teams that work with me live well, make good money and call me a friend, that is what I think about now. I'm trying to grow my fleet to a point where I...

I want to become a straight truck O/O

I'm 29 and I've worked my tail off to build a fleet of straight trucks with FedEx. I started by reading the forums and learning the business so I could ask the correct questions and I never was insulting to people that knew this industry. Now have a company that does well in excess of a million...

I want to become a straight truck O/O

That's like asking how much does a house cost. So, what's a "troll" mean?

Fed Ex CC what a mistake

I think was an issue when Roberts was bought out, but FDCC has cleaned house of that stuff. More of a small carrier issue.

Fed Ex CC what a mistake

Just to clarify, fedex doesn't own trucks. They have preferential treatment to the trucks hauling FCR fedex owned trailers when they started the FCR program but after it was brought up that it may be in violation of everyone's lease they dropped it and no longer give that preferable treatment to...

Fed Ex CC what a mistake

I have 6 trucks on with fedex now. I'm not sure I know what you mean by spoon feeding loads. The biggest hurdle your going to have is being solo. That's huge. I understand not wanting to be a team, but if that's the case I'd find a better carrier to run for. You'll go broke at FDCC running solo.

Fed Ex CC what a mistake

Solo? FDCC is terrible for solos. Ever consider a team mate?

Tragic News - Jason Williams Son

Very sad. Prayers go out to Jason, Paul and all the Expediter Services family during this time. I know most of the core staff are all personal friends and this must be tearing up everyone over there.

    Redundant questions of an expediter

Lol. Well, it's headed back home to the office. I thought it would be cool in the truck but I would have to give up something... Like a bed.

    Redundant questions of an expediter

Thanks. I'm hopeful I'll find a team for it soon. BTW, I didn't see you at the expo. My partner won the 50" TV at casino night. It was pretty exciting.

    Redundant questions of an expediter

Well, I spoke too soon. My dry box team wrecked the truck. They don't drive for me anymore. Now I have a freshly repaired truck sitting on the lot. :-/

    Talking money with dispatchers.

And depends on who your contracted with. Here at FedEx CC if your in the basic dry freight expedite division they just shrug their shoulders and offer it to someone else. No negotiation. Period.

    Redundant questions of an expediter

You see my ads all over EO and on craigslist and truck paper? No, I didn't think so. I am not in the business of spending money trying to recruit drivers when I have no spots available and because of that I have no drivers talking to me. I have a few teams that have mentioned a desire to come...

    Redundant questions of an expediter

Twiggy, the endorsement costs $10-$15 in most states. If you get 1 load ever off it you've made back your investment. Like I said, we haul quite a few loads like that.

    Redundant questions of an expediter

That's not a real fair comparison. Look at the scale. Es has hundreds of trucks. I have less than a dozen. Big difference. Also, we haul a lot of tanker required loads at the fed. Can't speak for panther although I assume they do as well. I don't require it for my teams but I do highly encourage...

    fuel economy

370hp with the allison will be low. For around the same money you can get a 410hp with an ultrashift or a dt12 transmission. Both offer better mpg. Look into Expeditertrucksales.com. They have some models spec'd well at decent prices. (Financing too).

    Bold Distribution

I may know that owner. I think they are running under es fleet owner program. Those fleets have access to all the advantages es has also. I would inquire about that. We run our fleet under es fleet program as well and our drivers consistently do better than people running 35% under es. Our only...
