If ya gotta sit during this storm, get paid!

My former carrier payed $82 or $84 per hour detention after the first hour for a cargo van. At the time my average per mile was about $1.02. So I made slightly less on detention because my average running speed was 85-90 mph. Oh, I forgot to figure in fuel cost. Um, oh yeah, I installed the...

    Hello, new to expeditors.

Yeah, when I offered to pay for his secrets and he didn't reply. Reminds me of that scooter scott fellow from a few years back. Maybe he resurfaced with a new carrier.

    Jump start cables

Moose, as a fellow Minnesotan I find your question embarrassing. I realize you are not a native, but this question should have been asked in private. Most native Minnesotans receive a set of jumper cables at birth and get a block heater for their 15th birthday. The 10 gauge cables have a...

The real cost of starting in expediting

Thanks Sluggo. I just had my very first exfoliating treatment this morning after my sauna. The attendant coated my face with an exfoliating product called Agent Orange, which is very popular in east Asia. After the Agent Orange was removed she scrubbed my face with 000 steel wool. I do feel...

Hooking up a CB in a sprinter

After almost 7 years, no corrosion. I did use some dielectric grease on the screws and where I scraped some paint down to the bare metal behind the mounting bracket. Got a good ground and a SWR less than 1.

    add straights to it.

Sluggo, you have already been helpful by asking questions! As a newbie you are already at a point where you have something useful to offer. Have you ever considered chronicling your experience into the expedite world here on E.O.? Some of us grizzled veterans (Highway Star euphemism) can't...

    diablo powerpuck ?

Wow, if one were to run a little less hard and say average only 70 mph could one be considered a refinery on wheels and be eligible for certain federal tax credits? I guess with the refinery status comes the E.P.A. standards and restrictions. Might be best to continue averaging 85/90.

Global spam e-mail levels suddenly fall

Why do all you so hate Spam and deride it as an electronic scam? Personally I like that pork and often eat it with a spork. Sometimes straight from the can and almost always in my van.

    Hello, new to expeditors.

I was not bribing dispatchers. I willing to pay for any secrets that will give me an advantage in this cut throat business. When the tailgate drops, money talks out the garbage bowel. Nuff said.

The real cost of starting in expediting

With the money we make most of us eat and sleep at 5 star hotels. Truck stops are a convenient place to fuel and park. Next time you see a limousine pull into a truck stop, chances are it is headed for "expediters row". How do you think we get to the hotel? I must be off. Tis time for my...
