    Cargo Vans.

The Freightliner Sprinter is now the Dodge Sprinter, I have already seen them at several Dodge dealers. It is replacing the aged Dodge Ram cargo vans. Rumor of a Mercedes gas engine version on its way for those who don't want diesel. The dually rear version looks quite heavy duty, but from...

    Kitchen ergonomics

Of course I know where Olean is! I know every back road within a 200 mile radius of where I live, and all their Aunts and Uncles too! -Weave-

    problem my friends had

The big spot in front is from a fuel leak on his Cummins TD, the little white thing at the front of the puddle his cigarette butt he tossed to torch 'er up! The smaller leak towards the rear is from his Dodge auto tranny. We are CRUEL!!! ...just being sarcastic- VERY nice hotshot puller! I...

    Freightliner Columbia 200k Mile Report

People can knock Freightliners all they want, but the truth about the two I have owned and about 650k miles of expierience with them is they have never left me stranded, broken down under load, or been on the hook, and have had what I consider to be the bare minimum of unscheduled repair costs...

    OLDER VANS

That is a sweetheart of a van, but not one that is practical for mainstream expediting. Maybe mom can take the Girl Scouts in that job on the Cookie tour, and I'm not being negative or sarcastic :7 -Weave-

    Riddle #2

    Do You Remember These??

Just too damned wierd- I was laughing to myself earlier in the week about candy cigarettes and how well they would go over these days. #1 on your list - too funny:7 -Weave- I quit smoking a while back. Started sniffing glue! For you history buffs- Studebaker lives on as Cooper Industries...

    nationwide pagers

Harpo referred to it as Archer, it is called Arch paging. I have one of these as my cell phone backup, and by God, it's the first paging system I have had that actually works! It's $30 a month, and the pagers themselves don't drink batteries. AVOID Cue pagers- they are horrible! Won't work...

    Crossbreed Dogs

Not sure about dogs, but I always get a kick out of going past Babbitt street in Cleveland- Is that a cross between a baboon and rabbit? -Weave- ...Do DOT officers vacation at the "Big Bone Lick State Park?" :D

    Dan The Man Tilley

I am happy to hear Alumi-Bunk has been listening to the wants of the expediter market and building more durable trucks of higher quality. Alumi-Bunks used to be noted in my mind as the "Universal FL70/80 CAT 3126 300k mile disposable expediter truck." Working on the better Navistar chassis with...

    New HOS rules.

That is the way I am looking at it, just business as usual for me, a solo expediter. The new rules are not going to change the industry overnight, and myself along with every other solo truck driver out there will just adjust ourslves accordingly as to what needs to be done for us to continue...

    New Hours of Service Regs

Instead of trying to work our ways around the crazy laws by overloading already overloaded cargo vans with an overloaded chintz trailer that the van doesn't have the power to pull, let's get the unrealistic laws illiminated, this new HOS thing would be a grand start. What is a legislator's job...

    Kitchen ergonomics

Here is Weave's kitchen when at home. About 95% of my EO postings have come from this 15 x 18 foot room in my father's cellar. I refer to my office as the "speakeasy." WE live in a 100 year old historic home is Silver Creek, NY. This is a room any man would be proud of- color TV, endless...

    New Hours of Service Regs

Beaurocracy (sp)101, with the big trucking companies who have all the lobbyists on their side. They make the OOIDA look like a flea on a great dane. I said this in my posting #6, these big co. guys had the rules bent for the benefit of them, to get people into trucks for less money then a fast...

    Freightliner Columbia 200k Mile Report

The Columbia has hit 200k this week. I have been very pleased with this unit thus far, and with my decision to buy this repossessed truck a year and a half ago with 52k miles on it then. The powertrain, DDC S60 and Rockwell 10 speed, have operated like a watch without any problems at all...

    New Hours of Service Regs

I'm all for a shutdown over this issue just to set the record straight with this rediculous DOT and their silly rules, that simply will NOT reduce the number of truck accidents, and they know that. It will just give them better opportunities to make money, and drivers more creative ways to...

    Centramatic wheel balancers

I had them on my FL70, and they did help with the cupping wear. But, there is a fellow on this forum that swears 6 golf balls inside each tire will keep them balanced just as well for a lot less money. I have found the BEST remedy for unusual tire wear is just proper alignment. So even after...

    New Hours of Service Regs

Like I said, it ain't going to happen, or if it does, it won't last too long. By contrast, it would take 6 regular cargo vans to haul what I can put in my 24 footer, not to mention if the solo 53 footers disappear. This new dumbass rule, made up by yet another old foagy dumbass politician...
