    West Coast Expediting

Probably would depend on where your loads are coming from. Some do ok and others just go broke.

    Friendly Warning on Fleet

Thanks for the clarification. Those are the problem posts where no one knows who is right and the wronged party wants to automatically sue.

    Friendly Warning on Fleet

Bingo. You put names up and the post will disappear. Again, no patience to do investigations to determine who may or may not be right for the sake of leaving a post up.

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

True. But just like most unions, they consider that part of their compensation package regardless of the origin of the payment check.

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

I would wonder of the 45 percent who don't pay anything are actually collecting something in the form of a benefit from the Fed?

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

As I said, I think there does need to be some type of compassion clause for the truely needed. I don't think we are a country that would throw those people "under the bus". Everyone else should provide some form of labor in my opinion for those benefits. Same with unemployment. They should...

$265,000 to welfare in a few years-

With so many states in trouble financially, I think it supports the thinking of having people work for their welfare checks unless they have a physical limitation. I would be of the thinking that the costs of welfare would drop in half.

    Fuel Surcharge & Carrier Obligation

Lot of gaming going on out there. Some worse than others. I guess your reference of $1.12 per mile is directed at a MI based carrier.

    Equiptment use fees

I'm not saying one way or the other is set in stone. In our case, one of the three is a specific tax attorney. Or, how do you argue with the actual IRS agent? Very tough call as much is open to interpretation. Certainly not trying to dispute someone elses experience. Funny we have a different...

    Fuel prices

Value of the dollar is becoming a bigger problem every day. As DC keeps racking up the debt, the value of the dollar drops. Since its value is less, it takes more dollars to buy the same barrel of foreign oil. Of course we are so smart we give billions in loan guarantees to Brazil so they in...

    Equiptment use fees

I would side with Bruno on this based on previous IRS audits. Many parts are really open to interpretation from a field agent. We use two attorneys. One is a hired gun and the other is a family member. It is more of a matter of adding layers. One can call the IRS with a question ten times...

If a bulletin was issued I would at least get it covered under a warranty repair.

    Problem with van

I don't know if it is common as I haven't seen this problem posted. Keep in mind that I don't drive a van but know a thing or two that may give a point to look at. If they changed the converter, then I would proceed to the yoke, drive shaft (could have thrown a factory weight), u-joints, and...

I hope the folks complaining are preparing & sending the moderators investigative fees. Investigating he said and she saids is time consuming and expensive. Waiting on the check at the mailbox.

Business tax cuts don’t spur more capital spending, study shows

It isn't just the federal tax. It is a combination of that and state. Illinois just raised the state corp tax to 35 percent. They are paying that plus the federal. That is the reason Cat wants out of IL. When the US is competitive with foreign countries on those investment dollars, the money...

    Removing and Locking Out Threads

Darn. And just when we thought everyone was happy. On the serious side. Posts that involve personal problems between a carrier and driver just don't work. One doesn't know who is right or wrong and if you allow one, then you allow others and before too long, we would be investigating every...
