Conway drivers, how about a big smile for the camera?

I just read in the Trucker about SmartDrive systems, that also alert to u turns, and promise to "automatically put critical safety event video in the hands of the fleet manager in under 5 minutes when a vehicle is executing this extremely unsafe maneuver." Oboy.

Conway drivers, how about a big smile for the camera?

Removing it seems like it would be counterproductive: drivers have enough to watch, without adding current speed, when it isn't necessary. Isn't our attention divided enough already, with other vehicles, potential situations ahead, road signs [warning & information], truck gauges, route changes...

Conway drivers, how about a big smile for the camera?

Adaptive cruise control isn't exactly 'removing' it, it's augmenting it with the ability to react to a danger, should the driver not. Like with medical emergencies, or falling asleep.

    Makes sense!

That he could be forced to sell is the risk he took when becoming part of the NBA. What doesn't sit well with me is that his extensive history of racist comments and acts [as a slum landlord] were never given the public exposure that would have enabled the public to make their opinions known as...

    Makes sense!

Yet another point Mr West [and the OP] missed: it's not the US government that wants to "take" Sterling's property, it's the NBA. An Association he voluntarily agreed to become part of, including abiding by their rules & decisions. "Soviet Socialist"?! Really?!

    Makes sense!

Allen West is missing the point about Donald Sterling: comments that would have been 'glossed over' years ago are no longer acceptable to most people, and if most people know and/or care] more about sports than politics, whose fault is that?

New DOT physical qualifications start May 21st

It's good that you learned of the potential risks of obesity, but it shouldn't require a mandatory physical with tests to clue you in - the information has been out there for quite awhile. Whether it went unaddressed by you because of the cost, or some other reason, forcing additional tests and...

    Another "Zero Tolerance" Runs Amok

A little scarce on actual fact, or sources to check, eh? "Parents say" is not what I'd accept as the whole story, because it very often turns out to be incorrect. And once again, it's claiming a bias against Christians, which is a common reason cited for banning books from the curriculum and/or...

    Panther Premium Logistics

Another example of the flagrant and rampant discrimination against lefties, is what it looks like to me. [And I'm not biased, either, lol.]

New DOT physical qualifications start May 21st

As several others pointed out, one absolutely can be in good health with a BMI greater than the arbitrary cutoff. One can also be in apparent good health and drop dead without warning. What I think will happen is just more churn: drivers will leave the industry, [voluntarily or not], and new...

    MAY LOCATIONS Mayday Mayday Mayday

Might have been me at the Pilot, picked up in Chicago yesterday, delivered this morning in Nashville. I saw a bunch of expediters enroute on 65.

    Another "Zero Tolerance" Runs Amok

Banned books is a subject that I am particularly interested in, and of all the dozens of reports and mentions of the reasons, I don't recall a single book banned for being "pro Christian". I can't think of even one parental complaint about a book that features [or just mentions] characters who...

    Dust Dust Dust

Jeff Campbell, creator [and awesome boss] of The Clean Team, says most of the dust & dirt indoors is brought in, and the best way to minimize it is with high quality mats on both sides of exterior doors. Or you could just dust the dash at long red lights, which is what I do. ;)

36 of the Most Ironic Moments Ever

I thought the maple leaf would get to LM, too, lol, but my favorites were the dogs who chewed up their Obedience School Certs and the "No Chew Spray" bottles. It's cause they can't read, of course. ;)

    Another "Zero Tolerance" Runs Amok

It gets really depressing, the way science and independent thinking, creativity, and 'what if?' questions are actively discouraged in what passes for 'education' today, while athletics are treated as the pinnacle of human achievement. I'm still watching for that town that brags [with a sign at...

    Government Run Health Care

Because they also opt out of alcohol, tobacco, most processed foods, and a sedentary lifestyle, the need for modern medicine is very small. It would be wonderful if the rest of us could live that way, no doubt. My sister and her husband are doing it, as are many others - but it's an impossible...

    Government Run Health Care

Tis - and I'd make the same end of life decision: palliative care only, no chemo/radiation or surgery to add a few months [of discomfort!] at a very great cost. [I've already told my family that if I get 'that' diagnosis, I'm heading for Oregon, lol.] But I don't see a lot of people making that...

    Government Run Health Care

A big part of the reason people want a single payer system is the trouble they're having with getting medical care already. So many doctors are specializing, finding a general practice family doc is tough, and the waits for appointments are much longer than seems reasonable. [When I first began...
