You might try moving around a bit if there are other parking spots. It doesnt take much to make a big difference. There is likely full signal to be had, but as said, its probably out in the truck lot. You might find a spot out there just right for the sprinter. I would advise that you be careful...

Ive used the pilot/flying j wifi a few times. It was fair...usually. The problem you will have is finding a good spot to get a good signal. You are correct that the best signal will likely be in the truck lot somewhere. Given that you have a connection, although slow, you probably wont gain...

Last time that I was in McAllen, I watched 2 illegals walk across the parking lot and climb onto a t/t in broad daylight (the truck was parked in the fuel lane, driver inside to pay) They concealed themselves under the roof fairing. But, before they went there, they checked the driver's door...
