Set rates would be nice, factoring zonal operating costs. High fuel & tolls certainly affect CPM for all.

Generally couriers get a lower percentage because its common to have 2, 3 & 4 deliveries on board at one time. Higher percentages are paid, generally, for deeply discounted customers and route work.

Rush Transportation & Logistics (Dayton, Cincinnati & Columbus) is a courier company. Don't be confused, it's not an expediting company at all. Drivers don't "sit" after out of state drops. Rather turn & burn. Even the straight trucks are not expediters. These are not opinions or assumptions...

FedEx Custom Critical to start posting loads on the Sylectus

There wouldn't be an increase in the number of bids because there wouldn't be an increase in the number of trucks. You don't bid on a load without a driver to cover. See what I'm saying? That's why the CURRENT increased capacity is what's driving down rates. More trucks available to allow more...

I don't follow that same logic that makes that drop rates. But I have an open mind if you want to "break it down" for me.

    Keurig coffee maker

I run my K-cups twice each for about an 18 ounce cup. I also buy the bulk cases at Sam's Club at about $.56 per cup. But I don't YET carry my Keurig. Love 'em though. I've "worm out" two of them. On my third now in about 5-6 years.

FedEx Custom Critical to start posting loads on the Sylectus

Touché. I get it now. These aren't new loads to Sylectus. These are just loads that will be blasted out at bid/market rates instead of contracted or carrier rates. Am I less muddy-visioned now? Don't forget the small carrier disqualifier in that email. "At least 10 trucks". That knocks some of...

It's all supply and demand, anyway, isn't it? We don't like it but doesn't the market determine overall rates?

    The ultimate noob question

There's no load tracking on Sylectus for connect level users. That info would have to come from the companies and not Sylectus. Which means you won't get it.

Yes. Do it. I'm apparently speaking in riddles tonight. Too sleepy. Good night all.

No. Do it. Good move and the fuel savings will pay for the reprogram.

    Van Insurance

Commercial just means operating and engaging in business for hire. DOT, of course, goes a step further with the >10K+ definition.

    Van Insurance

The miles driven FAR increase the miles driven of any personal vehicle. More miles = More risk. And the fact you generate revenue with it is a factor. Technically the Feds only require $350K liab for that class of truck. But most carriers require $1M. Plus the cargo, of course.
