    Idle-Aire a flop ?

I stopped at the Petro West of Birmingham AL last week and very few of the Idle-Aire spots were being used . The next morning more spots were taken but none of the trucks were hooked up . It looked like all the other parking spots were taken so trucks parked in empty Idle-Aire spots .

    HIT BY 4-WHLR! NEED LAWYER!

Truckers get shafted regularly in the Atlanta area . I worked for a company near Atlanta that had a couple of trucks involved in minor fender benders , at least one that was clearly the 4 wheeler's fault . The cops cited the truck drivers and told them if the company paid the other party's...

    Company Plan?

I'll tell you what I found out about an LLC , especially in a one truck operation . You don't get the personal asset protection you'd think you get . If you drive the truck and are found negligent in a serious wreck , you personaly can be sued putting your home and other assets in jeopardy . On...

    TRIP LEASE

Trip leases are mainly used for backhauls . You pay the broker or carrier that has the load then if you have a permanent lease , your carrier takes a percentage of that which doesn't leave much for you . Trip leases are usually a way to avoid deadheading out of an area your carrier can't get a...

There is also the chance that an overloaded van will be in a serious wreck and regardless of who is at fault there will be a major lawsuit and DOT will start targeting expediting vans . While vans don't have to cross the scales in most states , DOT has the right to pull over any vehicle and...

A question about Haz Mat endorsement and Nations E

RE: A question about Haz Mat endorsement and Natio You're right about the waiting period but many loads are not hazmat . They may allow you to start hauling non-hazmat loads while waiting for clearance although it would not be wise to invest in a truck if there is any doubt about background...
