China automaker to build cars for Chrysler

Just one more deal to improve China's economy and increase their demand for diesel fuel and raise the price higher . Daimler/Chrysler has contracted Cummins to start building smaller diesels for Durangos and light pickups . More demand , higher prices . It will make no sense whatsoever to buy a...

    Looking at being an expediter

That's a good point . Most carriers require a Hazmat endorsement and the background check usually takes 6 weeks or longer . The other question that comes to mind is can a van really supply acceptable revenue for both an owner and a driver ?

    Whose country is this anyway?

I'm sure you all read about the CEO of Schneider National appearing before a House transportation committee and complaining about labor being a major cost in trucking . Right now Schneider hires all the immigrants they have and want immigration laws eased so they can hire more .

Tom Cobb at the hotshothauling.com forums says he and several other drivers just buy bottles of vegetable cooking oil at the grocery store . He uses 1 qt. per hundred gallons , others use as much as 10 qt.s . They claim better fuel mileage and lubricity .

    DRIVERS LICENSE CHECK

Did he previously have a license in a different state and later move to the state he is in now ? Like I said , it's been several years since I've worked in Atalnta . I knew 2 o/o's that were leased to Peachtree Truck and Trailer Repair . The trucks were single axle day cabs . They'd pull intermodal trailers from the railyard for repair then deliver them to UPS and Yellow Freight . The...

    Navistar considering selling out .

I just read this in a " Light and Medium Truck " newsletter . Things are tough financially and Navistar is considering selling out . 18 Wheelers just don't like me

I see PLENTY of trucks from big fleets in wrecks . A couple of months ago a Swift driver ran off the road on I-75 near the Ohio - Ky line . Wasn't it a Crete Carrier driver that killed those kids in GA by pushing their car into a school bus ? No point debating . Check the stats at safersys.org .
