    Get the DOT number!

Safersys.org gives the name of a company's insurance carrier along with other info . Always try to get a witness . An England driver backed into my truck , moved a few parking places and denied doing it . I had a witness and police found paint chips from my fender on his trailer bumper . When I...

    Freeway Entrance

That's about what you can expect from Schneider . They get what they pay for - a lot of immigrants and rookies . It'll get worse before it gets better . Bad part is trucking school graduates start with Schneider , figure the whole industry is that way and leave instead of taking their experience...

    New Purchaser

    >I'm looking at a couple new trucks can anyone suggest a good >dealership to work with. > >Thanks, Knowing where you are located and the model you prefer would help but if you are considering a 2007 model any dealer should bend over backwards to move one .

Used IdleAire for the first time

    >I gotta be missing something here?? What in the world would >someone want with heat in Georgia?? The same reason they would want heat in TX the last week or so .:) . Like I said - even with the "heat" going all night the temperature in the cab never got to the mid-60's . One other thing to...

Used IdleAire for the first time

I used it a couple of more times . There is a real problem with the heat . The unit in Cartersville GA T/A didn't heat to over 61 degrees . At the second time in N.Baltimore OH Petro I put the heat and fan on manual , the thermostat at 85 and the temp stayed around 73 .

WHAT ARE OUR HOURLY WAGE(s) ??

You shouldn't count the hours off duty or in the sleeper just because you are not home . Many construction workers spend time away from home but they aren't paid once they are off the job site . They do have their motels paid for and get perdiem for meals though . Some companies pay a laundry...

    Baskin Robbins?

Just FYI , like many carriers Baskin Robbins was bought out by Martin Foods who in turn laid everybody off and sold all the Baskin Robbins trucks and sold a plant that had had a multimillion dollar renovation just a few years before . Baskin Robbins ice cream isn't made by Baskin Robbins ...

    Whatever happened?

People will start standing behind the President and other elected officials when we can go to the polls and decide who we want to vote for , not who we want to vote against . Bush got reelected because so many people voted against Kerry . The Democrats are now controlling Congress because people...

Used IdleAire for the first time

Wasn't impressed . $1.85 an hour doesn't seem to offer savings over idling - not when I fuel up at $2.19 a gallon in Walton , KY . I set the thermostat at 76 degrees before getting in the sleeper and temp never went over 67 degrees in the truck . It was in the mid 30's outside . I set the...

    Whatever happened?

Support our Pesident ? Does he support us ? What about legislation supporting ATA and degrading the trucking industry as a whole ? Wait and see how many more immigrant drivers replace American drivers when immigration laws are eased . Yes , prolong the war and keep awarding billions of dollars...

    Pickup with a trailer

Panther and FECC both have flatbed divisions . It's a whole 'nuther game . FECC even offers oversize service . Regardless the OP only has a 3/4 ton truck and considering the weight of a trailer it isn't likely he will find enough light loads to generate enough revenue .
