    Gang initiation

But you know it's all about how popular you are, when deciding if your words have merit. Brisco needs a motivational poster - I'd suggest the one of Snoop Whateverhisnameisthisyear and Martha Stewart, happily cooking together, with the caption: "Only one of them is a convicted felon." ;)

Is one religion better than another?

The Life Church sounds appealing, but history says it will see various groups splinter off when they can't agree on something they consider important, and the church won't change for them. Or is changing, and they can't go along. That's why there are Lutherans, Calvinists, etc, and human nature...

    So Long

Your granddaughter will be glad when you get back to work, and she can play with her tub toys again, lol. ;)

    So Long

Cold is why the touch screen "doesn't work well" [at all, you mean!]? I thought mine has chiraptophobia [fear of being touched] or maybe just chirophobia [fear of hands], because it does NOT respond to touch half the time. It's really aggravating when you don't have much time to wait for it, and...

Mod movin on, Thanks Ken aka OVM!

You already know I'm in, lol. ;) I thought both you and Ken were pretty good mods, trying to be even handed, and I hope the replacement does as well. Big shoes to fill.... As Scott says:<beer!>

    February, the short month !!!!!!!!!

Is nobody else cracking up at Shadow's comment: "mistakes will be made, but that's part of what makes us who we are and what keeps us separate from the competition" Because the competition doesn't make mistakes? Sorry, I have the same off kilter sense of humor as Turtle, lol. :o Ok, I'm going...

    Obawacare Truth....Personal Experience

Really: I'm envisioning arriving in the ER with a broken leg, and the insurance denying coverage, because I've always been a klutz, and I could have taken ballet or something to correct it, but selfishly chose not to.

    Obawacare Truth....Personal Experience

I think the big word you were aiming for is 'exacerbate'. You're welcome. I also think the idea of limiting or refusing coverage because of self inflicted damage is a can of worms you don't want to open. Because insurance companies can have a field day with that one....

    Prohibit Pledge of Allegiance

Kinda seems like one of those truths we should hold to be self evident, eh? Like: you can't believe what people say while being tortured. Duh!

    Hospital refuses patient release

There's a pretty big gap between the ability to reproduce and fitness to parent - at least as far as refraining from abuse kind of fitness. Nature doesn't care if individuals perish, because the numbers will make up for it, and the species will continue. Society cares, because that's what we're...

    DUMB(founded) democrats

I'll take your word on the polls, as I haven't seen any lately. But if Obama'a in the low 40's, I bet Congress & the Senate are into negative numbers. I'm not a big fan of Obama, and I sure don't like Obamacare, either, I just don't care for the over the top vitriol that gets tossed around...

    $33.77 per hour

Which declaration is that? Because the ones I mentioned were taken directly from your own words, no omniscience needed, or assumed. If I'm wrong, speak up - I don't ignore people, like some cowards do. Say it or don't.

    Michigan democrats yet again

The source can't change the facts: the woman's monthly premium is half what it was [$550 vs $1100] which balances the higher out of pocket cost [oh wait - the OOP ends up maxing at $2 more - I guess that's a big deal] she keeps her doctor, there are NO lifetime caps [important when you have a...

    $33.77 per hour

The passive aggressive hit & run posts add nothing to the discussion, and IMO, people who resort to them should be banned - at least from the Soapbox. Anonymous and/or ambiguous snide remarks do nothing to enhance cred - to the contrary.

    $33.77 per hour

You're right: public perception isn't very positive. But as OVM & LDB pointed out, much of that perception is simply inaccurate. When OVM wouldn't unload the trucks, they blamed the "not my job" lazy union mentality, but that wasn't the case at all. When LDB's brother in law talks about...

    Prohibit Pledge of Allegiance

Seriously: any pledge must be voluntary, because if it isn't, it's meaningless. Better our kids learn to believe what's in the Pledge of Allegiance, than parrot it by rote. I never say it, but I try to live it, because that is what it means to me.

When is it a hate crime?

Somebody better get you some crayons - your 'explanations' are getting further & further 'out there' all the time. "The first black President"?

    $33.77 per hour

There is one leeetle difference between management shutting the doors and workers going on strike: the workers can be [and often are] replaced and fired. In either scenario, the workers pay a much higher cost for their actions. I'll grant that sometimes, a strike is just about unreasonable...

    Prohibit Pledge of Allegiance

That's exactly why people [including me] object to forcing schoolchildren to recite it. Not because we have any problems with what it says, but because the way it's done is just indoctrination. Unless it's done differently than when I recited it every day in school, it's just words, memorized...
