    Seen it all ????

There is a factory in St Joseph MO that manufactures ship anchors. Theyn told us that they were only 2 maufacturers of ship anchors in th USA. We picked up a 10,000 pound anchor, hauled it to the Norfolk VA Naval yard and delivered to a Navy ship.

    Seen it all ????

I will never forget the time when I delivered some very expensive rolls of carpeting to a huge mansion in CT. After driving all night I arrived at the gate house and the guard told me I had to shave and change my shirt before I could enter and deliver the carpet to the main house. I got pissed...

    As bad as it seems?

With FdexCC the rare times you will get availability pay is if you are tasked to Fema and waiting at a Fema location to haul supplies into a disaster area. Another possibility is if they wish to impress a new and possibly lucrative customer by having a unit at the dock within 30 minutes.

    Accessory Charges

I would try to get as much as possible, perhaps 75% of all loads that require fingerprinting and l/Gate useage. If something goes wrong you are the one that will get injured not the owner. While the owner has a financial investment in the lift gate and other equipment it is your labor that is...

    VA Travel Reimbursement

Thats a new one on me. I didn't know about this,so if I drive to a VA Hospital in Gainesville FL about 80 miles to have a test done, I could claim $45.60 minus the deductible. I assume there must be some type of claim form. I am going to check with my local VA Clinic today, good info and...

    Cargo Van Owners' CPM

Yeah but lets say you buy 3 boxes of Q Tips a year. Each box has 100 so if you use 62 for the truck then 62% of the cost should be factored into your CPM equation. A while back someone claimed that he kept count of Q Tips used for personal use and business use. I think that is taking it to the...

    I'm getting paid how..?

One important item to get in writing is if you are on the 40/60 split and you wish to go home ,who then pays for the fuel and how many deadhead miles to home will the owner spring for. While some individuals such as the previous poster never go home most of us have homes with obligations etc.

The only time I ever reported a FDXCC driver was after doing a transfer to his truck in Louisville KY and I gave it a great deal of thought before I reported him. There was nothing wrong with him but truck was toally unsafe to be driving in. The tires were completly bald, there were holes in the...
