    Those Blair Drivers

If the fuel is the only expense for the driver, then 65 cpm is pretty good money for driving a Sprinter. Even with some idling (which can't be good for the Sprinter), they are probably under 25cpm for fuel cost and pocketing 40cpm. I'm not interested in having a boss, but otherwise, I would take...

    True crime OTR..

I was at the J just north of Houston, TX one night. The parking lot was packed. There was a guy on the cb offering to help drivers find a parking spot. He was in a car and knew a great place just down the road a bit...lol.

What is the negative side of expediting?

John made a smart move by limiting the layover pay. Otherwise, I would just take a nice load to BFE and SIT :D

    Child Support

You were in the same shoes as my mom. It was not enough. My dad did however raise his payment voluntarily anytime mom asked for it. She never asked for much. She always said that she would rather have us kids than the money (obviously SHE ain't right :D ). But, it was a decent amount and dad did...

July locations and banter and everything else

Is that what you do on a 800 mile trip?

July locations and banter and everything else

I've noticed this trend before myself...before I came to Load1. I agree that it seems to happen more when freight is slow. The only reasoning I could ever come up with is that the shorter the lead times are, the better the freight pays. When the loads are hard to come by, the rate cutters are...

    A good place to park!

I used to do that too, until I got the left front fender ripped off one day. So, then I started backing up in the parking spot to give 'em some room, until the same fender got ripped off again. After that I started being very picky about where I parked, preferrably parking next to a curb on the...

    True crime OTR..

I'll recount as best I can a situation I got MYSELF into when I had my straight truck. I was in CT and got a load out of Providence, RI area. I was in a rush to make the pickup time, but made it. It's times like this that it's easy to get yourself into the gotta go, gotta go mode and you...

So, who's coming to the expo?

I think John should consider having cheerleaders in the booth....actual cheerleaders. He mentioned the GATS in Dallas in the L1 forum...maybe Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders? Hooters girls would definitely fit the bill too :D

    Those Blair Drivers

IF that is driving ABlair's Sprinter and furnishing the fuel, it's good money. If it involves furnishing fuel for a straight truck...or furnishing your own vehicle of any size...then it gets cheap, dirt cheap or stupidly cheap...depending.

    Best/most logical apu/inverter/charging solution

This is the distribution panel I had found. WFCO WF8735P WF-8735-P Brown 35 Amp RV Trailer Power Center Converter Charger Camper Trailer RV Turtle, would this not supply everything needed to distribute AC and DC power to the truck from a generator (or shorepower)? What I have in mind is...

    Best/most logical apu/inverter/charging solution

I found a power distribution box a couple of days ago that I liked IF it works the way I understand it. The 110 AC power is supplied either by the APU or by shorepower. The distribution panel has its own converter built into it so that it supplies AC power and DC power to the truck...with...

What is the negative side of expediting?

Would be...and was...my choice. There is no one answer that fits everyone, but for the most part straight trucks are the most consistent movers. You can learn the industry in a straight truck without starving....generally. If you truly like the business and want to own your own truck, spend that...

Some new info on Ford Transit.

Do you know this for a fact? Im told that depends on what front end is under it....and some cant be converted. I'll change mine out if it can be done.

Some new info on Ford Transit.

I doubt it. They show the same old ugly one ton front wheels on their units as what CargoMax has. I did notice that Hazmat's Ford has regular wheels on the front. I've been told that it was possible to convert the Ford front end to the regular wheel...I'm not sure about the Chevy though. I...

Some new info on Ford Transit.

I'm just relaying the facts as I read them on the MAC website for those particular units. CargoMax and, as far as I know, Turtletop do not offer a true 159" srw chasis. They offer a reconfigured 159" dually chasis with a 10,000# door sticker. I'm guessing that whoever is building the...

    Mini Sprinters ?

Keep in mind...these great fuel mileage numbers, as well as maintenence costs are all different when talking about the pre '07 Sprinters (which is what this thread is based). Once you get into the newer models...it's not as clear of a picture.

Some new info on Ford Transit.

I went through the specs on the "independence" models last night. As best I could tell, the 13' body can be put on either of 2 chasis'...either a 159" drw chasis...or a 139" srw chasis. I agree that if the Unicel CW were 13' it would be top choice for me. I like that extra foot for folding up...

    Lrt

We all hate the fact that you or anybody else were not paid for your services. But, honestly, what good does it do to bring our attention to it? There is absolutely nothing we could do if we wanted to. Not only that, but the tantrum you keep throwing on here wouldn't encourage me to help you...

    Lrt

Can you imagine the tantrum he will throw if JP were to file suit against HIM? LOL Let me take a wild stab at it...settle out of court...for hmmmm....how much did LRT owe you? That really would suck wouldnt it? Better think about it.
