    FDX CC Accident Policy

Rich: It's not only fedup that find 99% preventable. Most times the only way you get a non-preventable, is to be home in you're nice warm bed. But then you may have another accident. I was with another carrier a few years ago and when stopped at a toll booth in Illinois a German tourist...

    Alternative to Rig Master

Weave I very, very seldom idle. The only exception is the very hot, dog days of summer, high noon sleepy time. I use one of those 12 volt, plug in, sleep on bunk warmers bill mentioned. Have kept warm to 17 below. Only problem then is, it's touch and go get'in the truck started when that...

    cab-overs?

Yep, off the subject, but, not too far. Back to the subject, I am going to add to my fleet in early ot three. It will be a flat floor freightliner c/o with a 30 ft curtainside. I will be able to have a large double bunk camper, and still keep to the 40 foot requirement that most states have...

    newbie, wannabe, maybe

Yes, you can be a "part time" expediter. However, when you are sitting at home, or, off duty, you must understand that deductions such as insurance, satellite equipment lease, etc. will continue. Also, most of the companys frown on having assets sitting around they can't use and might make it...

    Band Together???!!!???

It's interesting to see this issue rear it's head now. About a year ago I made a post here, asking if there were any interested partys wanting to be more independent in this business. My idea was to "select" what the odds would prove to be "the cream of the crop" and begin a cooperative...

Tri-States new short haul division? Thoughts?

I worked with the old autoquick for a while after my farmall got "too old" to run for fedup. Sounds like about the same deal. But, when they hit you with a load at 1800 that picks up in Columbus, and delivers in Akron and pays $86 watcha gonna do?? Probably, turn it down! and, after you've...

    So, How's Business?

Mr. Road Dog Let me suggest to you, that, you have not lived "boredom" until there is "no freight" (or whatever else is going on) and you sit in a wunnerful location without facilities, in 90+ degree heat for 2-3 days, waiting for that carrot.

What's the deal with Fed-Ex CC

Frank: Just think what you're record month woulda been at 100% insteada 60%. I'd still recommend you go out the door and not look back. But, get all in order while you are running hard. When the next slowdown starts you're ready to rock and roll. You...

What's the deal with Fed-Ex CC

It's been a couple years now. When I read in Trucking times the fedex/ af deal was made, I cut the cord from mother fedex the next month. could already feel the effects of selling that cheaper 2 day stuff. Like Shaker says, do your own thing, I've never been happier in this business.

    "HELP" (E L Hollingsworth)

RE: I probably should have a little more info on the specifics of this double bubble try. But here goes my thoughts. First. Doubles are (in the expedite business) very difficult to make work, and, as such few and far between. I can't believe you brought one back!!!!!! Just because the place...

is now a good time to start or not

Somewhere on this site I read a post from a driver that was observing other expediter trucks that were traveling. Can't remember for sure how it went. But, it was something like this. He noticed 1 Panther, 2 tri-state, 1 fedex and 6 or 8 ma and pa. Lemme see 1+2+1=4 for the big guys. And...

    RUNNING MY OWN ATHORITY/ LEA,

I use IFS.net to find freight once in a while. It is usually pretty cheesey, no, really cheesey priced freight. But if you can put a couple or three partials together, you can get towards that buck and a quarter or better a mile. What kind of freight are you finding on that truckstop site?

    Insurance

Well y'all this is an interesting subject. To go it alone, or, not. Tony evidently feels he is the only one that has gone around the crap house a couple of times. He is not sure if there is anyone that has been around that same crap house twenty or thirty times - but, he is learning. I would...

    which truck to buy..????

After driving a farmall 4900 for 600,000 miles in the expedite business, I figgured it was time to treat myself. I located a 330 Pete, used, 30,000 miles, ISC cummins, 9 speed. It had been set up with the drive, way under the 22ft box. No problem, I had wanted to be a little big truck driver...

    RATES

Rates are the same as how you price a widget, if you are manufacturing one. Cost, plus whatever you want to make. If'n you is too cheap, you'll be real busy. If'n you is to expensive, they'll let you know.

    TPS

There is really nothing else to "watch out" for as far as TPS freight is concernd, except the revenue offered. It is usually deeply discounted to the truck. After DH it'll pay you sixty to ninety cents If you can haul freight for that going anywhere but home, more power to you.

    expedite loads .com

I've subscribed to Expedite Loads for about a 10 months now. Have been successful with them for about $10,000 in revenue. Was posted on the trucks available site over fathers day weekend, and, evidently was the only one willing to run. The result was four good loads from that one call from a...
