I weigh 13,980 on the steer. It'd be less if I didn't have the monstrous front end/tires. This is with team and 300 gallons of fuel. This is lighter than many DR's. My chassis was prespec'd, sitting on the lot. He now stocks a lighter front end. I'd order 14,600 if ordering a DR.

I'd have to think the mobile mech was a guy that couldn't the grade at Speedco. You drive into Speedco fine. You pull out and quickly run out of fuel/quit running. Any idiot lites prior to quittng ? No. Pull filter. Is it full ? Is gasket ok ? Refill and try. Maybe try new filter. If...

I saw a guy lose a steer tire/wheel. He passed me and was moving over in front of me. When the weight came off the wheel it went airborne about 50 almost straight up and then into a field. He was able to get to the shoulder. When wheels come off and nobody gets hurt, you've got to feel lucky.

Two comments: I've heard Canada will put a torque wrench to check lug nuts. Each out of spec nut is a separate violation. Speedco, which has good and bad points, has a torque wrench that gives you a print-out of torque applied to each stud. I will get this done soon after tire replacement...

If you lose the bearing, you lose the wheel assembly as a whole.. Generally a poor maintenance issue.

Or, possibly just corrected a ground issue that wasn't addressed. Bad connection, corroded cable. At approx 500,000 I replaced all the Battery Cables on my Pete. Just to be proactive.. Never had any issues and sold it with well over 900,000 miles. Everyone that remembers this thread should...

I wouldn't have any D at the Fed w/o a liftgate. Liftgate pay is poor. Getting liftgate loads make up for the inferior pay.
