CARB - California Air Resources Board

I do not think California is going to differentiate between a one truck O/O or a fleet. You are either going to be legal going into California or not. This will include your Motor, your APU, and your Reefer.

    He finally did it!!!

Wow that is nice. We are also looking at the 100" sleeper and direct drive transmission made by Fuller. How are you liking the disc brakes? You did not go with the rack and pinion steering? Sure sounds like a nice truck do you have any pictures?

CARB - California Air Resources Board

A friend called and asked if I had looked the Excel Spreadsheet that is on CARBS website. The spreadsheet tells you pretty quick in a short period of time we will not be compliant in California. If you click on this link Fleet Calculator (Version 090403) Enable your macros you can put in what...

How fast do you run the truck? What are your thoughts on how the truck is performing for you? Do you have a lift axle? Do you have an after market sleeper on this truck? Do you have the rack and pinion steering on the truck? Do you have disc brakes on the truck? What kind of transmission...

    He finally did it!!!

Yes this is what we are looking at for our next truck. This one of the reasons we have been watching so close and how he is doing. Does not hurt any that he is a heck of a.nice guy.

    He finally did it!!!

We have been following the Cascadia and waiting for the truck to break 8 mpg while loaded pulled a trailer and it has happened! I was able to drive this truck out on the road while out at the CMC in Denver and we cannot wait to place our order. Great truck and as it gets broke in the truck...

CARB - California Air Resources Board

Right hidden admin issues meaning I spelled something wrong in the title and the only way to fix it was to delete MY post and then repost with the correct spelling. I do worry about this issue as it will affect all of us even more than the speed limiter issue in Canada. California does have...

    Is THis What You Expected

When our wheels are turning we are making money as we are not taking loads that do not work for us. When we are sitting we are most often in the truck, working on the truck or out for a walk. We know what we need per day to survive out here and after cutting as many costs as we can and...

To Lock or Not To Lock . . .

It also depends on if you’re a White Glove truck or an Express Truck on how you will look at locks. As an Express Truck we need to be available for every load that we are qualified for. A T-Val truck has many more opportunities to be offered a load as they are qualified for most loads that...

    Status Clarification

I think we are always in the newbie category as we can never know it all as the rules change daily and we are constantly evolving.

    Looking for Drivers input :)

I would agree right now the learning curve at a different company could be the straw that broke the camels back. If you are thinking of changing get a good mentor and you need some money put back as you are going to go a few weeks with no pay.

    Shocking Update

I am wondering the same thing as I had not heard of torque specs on shocks only of overzealous mechanics and air tools! Phil I did not mean you did not change your shocks regularly, it was an idea for many who have not changed their shocks at all or not changed them on a regular interval.

A serious discussion - safety and CLink

In the back of my mind I am wondering if that QC message is considered part of a weekly safety meeting that we are required to have? When with USX the safety messages were just as brilliant and we were lucky enough to receive one just about every day but weekends. One beep meant fleet message...

To Lock or Not To Lock . . .

When times where better we as an Express truck would leave a WG lock or Customer lock on us but not anymore. We want all loads opps we can get so as soon as we see a lock on us we call in and ask that the lock be removed.

    Kitchen Kettle multicooker/steamer by Presto

I had not thought of the grip shelf liner to use under the Kettle. I have all my shelves in the truck lined with that stuff and it really helps to keep stuff from moving around.

    Shocking Update

One you start changing your shocks at a regular interval you will find they are not nearly as hard to change as the first time you try.

    Kitchen Kettle multicooker/steamer by Presto

I looked at the Kitchen Kettle and I had a concern about if the outside gets hot? When Bob looked at the Kettle and the 1500 watts he got a little concerned. Poor guy thinks we need to haul around a huge power station! What I like about the rice cooker, Rocket Grill, and the crock pot is...
