There is SO much fraud in the welfare system, as with all government give away programs that it is beyond belief. People apply under multiple names. ILLEGAL residents get un-earned benefits, like education, health care etc. That is costing the states billions. Unemployement is not welfare...

Everyone is different Phil. We spend FAR more on the road than at home. We seldom eat at restaurants at home, they are a punishment. We prefer home cooked, more so with relatives. We also have an ample supply of venison, duck and fish in the freezer so I spend less.

You are not taking into account the wear and tear on a van for that 600 mile run. That has to be added into the cost. As cheri said too, that is 10-11 hours not resting, but working. Just needs to be accounted for.
