    The Girls Were Out!

Sexual discrimination question here . How many of you would report a woman flashing to authorities ? How many would report a man ? I was stopped at a light on U.S. 41 in Evansville IN . The car to my left had 2 women in their early 30's in it . When I looked in their direction the passenger...

any campny take under cdl no cdl

I know of a couple of companies that took cube vans and you wouldn't want to sign on with them . Watch out for these fly by night companies . It would be well worth your while to trade your truck for a Sprinter if you want to stay under CDL . Your truck is probably over 10,000 lbs. GVWR so you...

    TSA Search Standards?

ABC has an interesting show called "Homeland Security" that demonstrates some of their procedures . ABC Schedules a ‘Homeland Security’ Series - TV Decoder Blog - NYTimes.com . Pretty interesting . They let a cube van with a large amount of drugs come in from Mexico then kept an eye on it and...

    Do not hire this driver!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I mentioned in another post , all expediters should carry a picture of this "driver" with them and contact the carrier if they see her driving a van . Anyone that has had any contact with her should notify the police . If you have a copy of her driver's license you should notify the DMV that...

    Confused

We sure don't need that attitude . A lot of people going into the trucking industry (or trying ) feel that way . "Any job is better than no job " . Wannabes fail to have the logic to comprehend that with more and more experienced drivers losing jobs and more and more truck driving schools...

Stolen van(GPS), part two (attn. owners)

Call GA State Police and ask them to do a background check on her . I'd bet anything there are warrants out on her . She is using these vans for distribution of something and it's not loads by expedite shippers . How will you feel if you remain silent then see a fleet owner's van end up as a...

Stolen van(GPS), part two (attn. owners)

Considering this woman's background and methods she probably wants vans to use to distribute stolen merchandise and drugs , If I owned a van she had used I would be very concerned if a drug sniffing dog got close to it .

DQ'd - left holding the bill. need advice

I hear more and more about tractor trailer schools exploiting students . They will take students with bad MVR's knowing they are very unlikely to get a job . Carriers send potential students prehire agreements which mean nothing . Wannabes showing up on trucking forums are warned but few listen...

Stolen van(GPS), part two (attn. owners)

A person can only have 1 CDL . They can have multiple driver's licenses . After the original post I ran this person's name in a free basic background check . It showed addresses in several states including KY . Then I ran a google with her name and "arrested" . It showed someone with her name...

    Lift axle control regulation

One of those LA rock haulers just posted he called LA DMV and they confirmed the controls can't be within reach of the driver . He actually apologized for disputing me .

    Permit question

I guess you didn't learn much from those hotshot sites . If you want a nice F-350 you're going to have to find an old 7.3 Powerstroke . Hotshotters avoid newer Fords like the plague . They have too many problems and get poor fuel mileage . I don't know how you figure the truck would weigh in...

If you are in south central Indiana you may want to attend MATS this week . 2009 Exhibitor Search : Mid-America Trucking Show : March 19-21, 2009 Interesting . Enter expediting as a category and FedEx Custom Critical isn't listed but enter it as a company and it's location will show up .

    Lift axle control regulation

I haven't been able to find anything specific but in the section on lift axles this document states some states require the controls to be outside the cab . http://onlinepubs.trb.org/onlinepubs/nchrp/nchrp_rpt_575.pdf

    Lift axle control regulation

Thanks , Phil . The guys disputing my statements are rock haulers with lift axles that are from LA and run in and out of the state with no problem .

    Lift axle control regulation

I've read posts stating some of you have been fined for having axle controls within reach of the driver . In another forum recently a member asked about placement of the controls . When I said they had to be out of reach of the driver several members disputed this . Interestingly , 2 of these...

    stolen van FOUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

The poster that said she was selling things out of a van said it was a different van , different owner not paying . The owner probably waited because he was reluctant to press charges . Police wouldn't bother looking for it if it wasn't stolen . All the driver's fault for not being in contact .
