The truth about Obama's head scar.

HAHA, that's so funny! They were searching for a 'reptilian', and when one lady pointed out where she found it, I couldn't watch any more, on account of having to clean up the drink that splurted out my nose. It shouldn't surprise me - people are still taking Trump's candidacy as a serious...

    The Trump Card...

A reduction in spending should be part of a prudent fiscal plan - but it's the whole plan, according to the current Republican strategy. They have very little to say about the other side of the coin: increasing income. When they do, it's generally something vague about 'closing loopholes'. And...

    Pumpkin Spice Expediter

Thanks to canned pumpkin and different puddings, I eat it all year around. The waffle cone bowls make it even better - esp if you hate washing dishes, lol. ;)

    Tipping

I always ask for a second towel to dry my hair [Pilot/J], so whether I tip or not depends upon their response to my request.

    Pumpkin Spice Expediter

The perfect pumpkin spice expediter's dessert": pumpkin spice pudding [add plain canned pumpkin, if too sweet] in a waffle cone bowl. When they stop selling the pudding, try French vanilla or cheesecake pudding instead. EZ, fast, and delicious. Waffle cone bowls make oatmeal & cold cereal...

    The great tuna scandal

$25 cash or $50 in vouchers for free tuna is pennies from heaven, IMO. I buy a lot of tuna, seriously, and there's not many brands to choose from, so odds are I'm not even exaggerating a claim. Nice link, BTW, Leo. :)

So long, It's Been Good To Know Yuh

Moot runs for them because it works for him: he gets to be [mostly] retired, [granddaughter to play with!] and he gets some inspiration for great posts. Win/win. Load 1 provides good loads, but lousy material for jokes, lol. ;)

    Planned Parenthood's Problem vs. Capitalism

Problem is, the "they" who want to defund PP [conservative Republicans, mainly], aren't the same "they" who are demanding CMP turn over documents that shed more light on their operations. AFAIK, the only government official investigating CMP is the California Attorney General - all the others...

    Weekly (right-wing) Wing-Nut Roundup

2013 Church Budget Allocations, Learning Priorities, and Quarterly Financial Trends I think it's dead on topic, because the conservatives insist that churches can care for the needy, but the facts say otherwise.

    Just had a penitentiary flashback....

Oh, the quotes are from Shakespeare and the Bible. No Googling! Well, except for the "When you give your word", and "Woeful waste". The first I couldn't find, the second is unknown, but more commonly expressed as 'waste not, want not'.

    Just had a penitentiary flashback....

The governor and Judge Bunning may have said licenses without Davis' name and title are valid [but they remain in violation of Kentucky law, which requires licenses to be uniform across the state, and that law has not been changed], but those licenses did not also remove the title of the Deputy...

    Just had a penitentiary flashback....

The reason religion must not be part of government is that it forces the question of which religion? If your answer is Christianity, then which sect? Which bible? Which beliefs? People say Christian, and the Bible, as if they referred to one specific clearly defined thing, but they don't. And...

    The Trump Card...

Income [from taxes, fees, licenses, permits, etc] is the other half of the equation, and one might suspect the focus on spending is meant to deflect attention from the egregious abuses on that side. Especially among 'not for profit' companies, and 'charitable' organizations that exist to provide...

    The Trump Card...

Got it. That was just the first one I came across - but as you say, there's plenty of wasteful spending to go after, but oddly, the Republicans aren't saying anything on that subject. [Unless it's regulations - which are tantamount to the same thing, in their view.]

"Clock" maker invited to White House

If he didn't, he did what inventors do: used known things to create something previously unknown. At least, I assume a clock in a pencil case has not been done before. At any rate, the creative impulse is something we should encourage and reward [if only with applause], IMO.

    Just had a penitentiary flashback....

That the judge ordered him to write anything from the Bible at all is an abuse of his authority. The judge imposed his religious beliefs by choosing a Biblical verse to write 25 times per day until the marriage on the defendant, and that's indefensible. Had the judge used a quote from the Quran...

"Clock" maker invited to White House

Maybe. But who says 'easy' was what he intended it to be? The cool thing about inventing is that there's so many different ways to achieve the same result. For example: lacking screens for the truck windows, I bought a mesh popup laundry hamper, cut the sides apart, and they work [almost]...
