Absolutely!! However, your carriers ability to utilize the extra capacity of that type vehicle will govern if it is more profitable. Look for carriers that have the skills to load multiples on the same trip.

    QC $11.53/wk

Leo, YOU are a math wizard it seems. You need to start a trucking company an help your contractors save ALL da bucks. That'd be a good ting. If'n ya had 100 trucks signed on ya could live off'n tha residual. Almost, if they didn't understand the investment aspect. All this is good tho.

    cargo claims

Werent no exception wit me greg. I made da rules what went on the truck, in what condition, an how it came off. It's that "employee" attitude that still stimies things to happen. Or, not to happen.

    Ltl markets!

Nah pj, the drivers didn't "wanna". Ya couldn't even get em tipped off the first step to go pick up a three skid seventy cent load. After all they (only) had room for fifteen more skids. The that's not the way it happens attitude, or, how you "expedite" attitude is overpowering. Many will...

Hurricane hits Fuel Price sky rockets

We employed a flatbed tow truck many a time to get the freight to the ground there ovm. MANY! Way less damaging than opening the door and hitting the brakes in reverse. Not to mention.... easier on the brakes.

    team utilized?

Sounds to me like the "system" first in/first out that everyone thinks is so precious has gotca. Can you imagine the bs the dispatchers would hear if'n they'd pass over 4 or 5 folks and just offer that 200 miler to someone that would actually run it?? Can't happen. Ya gotta understand...

    Ltl markets!

I understand completely there charles. How'd ya like to have seven (7) ltl's like that going the same direction?? That wuz my record with the 30 footer. Why don't they???? Mainly because of the lack of skills and gumption in their dispatch and driving force (bout covers it, eh), that...

    cargo claims

I had a very strict policy that ALL mentioned percieved damage stayed on the truck. Being I wuz going to pay for it, I wuz going to own it. Be surprised how that policy eliminates damage claims. 99.999% of the other times, when life wuz good, i'd simply have em mark recieved in good condition...

Hurricane hits Fuel Price sky rockets

Wayy to go there garman. The American way these days. Landstar vs FedEx or other companies

Actually pj, there is a town/village in Egypt that pronounces its name like that. How'd ya like to give your identification credentials to a cop somewhere else in the world and try and convince them you were from BF, Egypt? I'll echo Dave's response about your familiarity with the company...

Nastiest Truck Stop on the Planet

I never did truck stops well while out except for the normal business of fuel, showzers. But I see a couple of folks turning their noses up at places that housed a couple venues that would make a truck stop stay kinda bearable. One wit a bar, an anuther wit a ti ti bar. Heard the Chippendales...
