    Tri-State or Express1?????

Question is, what kind of mileage does an SRW cube get? All the rental trucks I've driven have been DRW, and if you get 11 or 12 in one of those, it's a happy day.

Greg, yours is the "Common Sense" answer. The "Lawyer" answer may be completely different  As for me, it's a "next van" issue; if they'll put a topper on a pre-owned van, that will allow me to find a nice '09 or so to do it with, instead of having to buy a brand new '12. Might save a...

    Tri-State or Express1?????

I thought about that too. Right now, I believe Penske is selling 2006 or '07 SRW cubes, 12' by 80", but their GVWs are 8600 lbs. By the time you kit it out, it would weigh over 6500 lbs, so not much available payload. Hopefully soon, SRWs will be available @ 9600; if you're careful, you could...

http://www.expeditersonline.com/classifieds/category/208/Cargo-Vans/listings/11582/2008-ford-e-350-HCV.html Looks like the whole thing is going for $34k. Sorry you have to sell, Jack :( If only I could afford it....

Greg: Any van? I figured they'd be leery of putting a roof on a van that could possibly have been hit. I could be wrong... Paul: will do :)

Thanks for answering :) Just for the heck of it, I might call Brightbill in Lebanon, PA. They sell paratransit vans, school buses, etc., so they'd know how much a raised roof would cost.

Lisa, I assume your van has door extensions? If so, how high? Did you buy the van new and have the raised roof installed, or did you get it with the roof on it already? (Nosey, ain't I?) Jack, how much was the HCV over and above the cost of the van? FWIW, I'm pretty sure most upfitters...

    Tri states ?

Shows you what a "truckstop lawyer" knows; Chapter 13 is for personal reorganization, Chapter 11 is for businesses. Besides, truckstops are right up there with high schools as places where rumors spread like wildfire....

I'm a total noob, need help!

We tie a rope to the mower and stand on the flat area at the top of the hill, lowering the mower then pulling it up to do the next pass. Gotta watch your feets though! :D

Had a thought last night: how about a raised roof with door extensions, like you see on paratransit vans? Depending on how you order it, you could gain an extra 18 inches of headroom, or more, with up to a foot of extra door height? Might be just the thing for people who aren't into Sprinters....

    US Express Van Deal

How much is the FSC? At 26cpm it would make the whole trip pay 96 cents per mile. Times 2100 miles, that's $2016.00. If you use the accepted standard 1/3 split, that's $672 each to fuel, van and driver. Might be a tight squeeze with a big van payment. EDIT: FSC is .41, per LDB. Just the same...

    Yet another bus crash

The PA Turnpike is an old road. It opened in 1940 between Carlisle (Exit 226) and Irwin (67), with NO speed limit; signs warned motorists to slow to 90 for the curves  . On two-ply tires, no less!   Pearl Harbor put the brakes to that. In the intervening years...

The Sinking Of The Titantic - FDCC

Once again, as a newbie (pre-newbie to be honest) who's flying above his ceiling again, I may not have authority to talk, but: Phil and Diane were fired over the phone. They asked, and answered a few questions, turned in their QC the next morning, etc. They did what they needed to do to...
