    January 2010 Location

I'm at the Perrysburg J. Dropping the truck at Toledo Freightliner in the morning for body work from the deer collision. Renting a car and heading home for a week after 3 months out.

Parking @ the "J" in Olive Branch MS

I prefer the front when possible, no urine stench. I'm currently in the RV area of the J at Mill Hall, Pa.

    Ok Al...where is the heat?

12 posts and no one mentioned cow farts? The climate changeists should remind everyone not to confuse weather with climate.

    Do you watch:

Apparently, Beck said that since the new guy from Mass, Brown, made that lame little joke about his daughters being available, we have to be concerned that he'll sexually assault an intern. I used to listen to Beck occasionally before he was huge and just had his radio show. He didn't seem to be...

    No one seem to notice

Fox and Friends mentioned it this morning. I checked them out when they first hit the air and found very little substance, just a lot of hysterical yelling. Kind of like Mark Levin without the IQ.

    Eating on the Cheap

Tropigal, what most of us are trying to do is keep our meal expenses more in line with what we'd spend eating at home. Most "average income" folks don't eat all their meals in a restaurant to keep control of their budget. Those of us that have vehicles equipped with micros and fridges can use...

    Late night TV, who cares?

Leno is as vanilla as it gets, in a time when comedians need an edge.

Obviously freight rules aren't for everyone!

For some reason, Andy Rooney's voice popped into my head as I read the first sentence of your post.

    Ads for non-CDL Drivers

The federal CDL started in 1990 or '91. Not exactly sure... Prior to that there was just a simple "chauffeurs" endorsement. There was no federal registry.

Some Preliminary Thoughts on Garmin Nuvi465t

Most of the time the lame routing isn't a problem. But, once in a while it's a go-go deal to make the pick on time and you just hope the GPS does a good job.

Some Preliminary Thoughts on Garmin Nuvi465t

Have you had yours very long? Mine's given me some really stupid routing, including dirt roads once. One of my favorite things about a GPS is the ETA. It's nice to just glance at the screen instead of doing the math in your head. At this point, I wish I'd returned it. My hope is that the...

Some Preliminary Thoughts on Garmin Nuvi465t

I too went from a 330 to the 465. I got mine shortly after they came out. IMHO, it's a huge, steaming, odiferous pile of crap. I was out on Long Island Thursday. Instead of simply routing me 295 to 495, it wanted me to get off, then back on the xway. This thing is a huge disappointment from a...

    Idling in Sprinter

Why would you want an air cooled engine? I had a couple of Bugs and it made me appreciate having a car with a good heater in the winter.

A Way To Help Get Repeat Drunk Drivers Off the Road

What a load of crap. Because a drunk has been lucky enough not to hurt someone, they're better? It's one thing to have a craving, it's another to indulge it then choose to get behind the wheel. If a guy shoots at someone and misses, that's attempted murder. If a guy with a .22 BAC gets behind...

    Sprinter gurus

Ain't that the truth! I had a problem with my powerstroke making a HUGE sucking sound and not running well until it reached operating temp. I went to a dealership I'd used in the past that had a decent diesel guy. He'd left and they had someone new. A genuine, certified laptop jockey. He said...

    Amish exempted from socialized medicine

Just wondering, has anyone ever seen an Amish woman that didn't look incredibly angry and miserable? I'm at the WalMart in Coldwater, Mi and there was an Amish family in there last night. The wife had that "I wanna kill something" look on her face. Seems to be the norm with them.

    Shipping-SOPs

Boy, good luck with that! I find it odd that there doesn't seem to be SOP in corporations with multiple locations. Of course, automotive is the glaring example. Every plant does it differently, even different docks at the same location will be different. It would seem like using some kind of SOP...
