Have you cargo vanners tried hauling air freight?

Whew....I am glad he didn't say he was doing this for a living. .62 a mile would be painful if he was.

    Landstar info please

Re: QRe: Landstar info please After reading this thread, I think some way over think the whole thing. We have done both for years and for every negative, there is a positive the other way. Just depends on what one feels comfortable with. We have done Landstar loads for years and it has been a...

    Telling Dispatchers To Go..........

Just one of the absolute beauties of a "central dispatch" system. No need to get worked up over anything. If I don't like the answer or attitude, I hang up on them and call back and someone else answers. "No fuss, no muss".

    Should O/O Welcome Reduced HOS?

That would be my take. Probably the same reason that a carrier like E-1 maintains their rates to customers but cuts the rates and revenue to drivers. Have to think they studied this a little ahead of time. As the economy improves a little, the specific side of expediting remains soft...

    BEWARE of BROKERS

I'm not sure if he is saying a person wants to illegally be a dishonest carrier?

    State-of-the-Art Truck Stop

They would be our fleets choice as well. And you can't beat the fuel discounts we get by using them. Drivers save a considerable amount verses locations with just a nickel or something.

    State-of-the-Art Truck Stop

Being in Gary, IN is probably a bigger problem. ;)

That can always happen. Oops....is a good discription.;)

    Leaving panther beware

I think that is more of a van issue on the time. They are pretty good at giving us that type of information. I think many vanners abuse the time so they make a blanket rule on the time for them. Or...that is what I hear out of dispatch. May be somewhat true as we have done a "load" and the...

    Leaving panther beware

That stuff goes on all the time at the larger carriers. Ask me how I know.;) As for Panther doing it, just have to watch if a load is turned down and see what it goes for on thier web-X page. Of course they aren't fond of sharing that with the bulk of their contractors for the reason Turtle...

    Issues Facing CDL Holders

I could see needing some. Blizzard's diet seems like quite a bit with the goal to lose weight. But I will admit, I know nothing about the Adkin's diet or whether it even works. Jenny Craig, nutri-systems, there are so many.

    Issues Facing CDL Holders

So if I want to lose fat, I want to eat more fat? Would you not just stay the same weight?

    Issues Facing CDL Holders

I'm hardly a diet guru but I see all kinds of red flags with your diet. Seven eggs? I would think one or two would be enough. Bacon and cheese are generally no-no's if trying to lose weight I would think? Hamburger probably should be replaced with fish or turkey and mayonnaise is straight fat...

Thompson Emergency bad news - need advise..

There you go.;) My guess is he tried to collect it prior to the release date. Usually 45 days. It will say right in his contract. Whether he had charges against it for QC or fuel tax would be subtracted from the total.

They are. Might be worth a call.

    Leaving panther beware

We haven't had any issues with dry run pay. Had to call on a few, but nothing major. The biggest problem seems to be people not knowing the rules or are clueless as to what is in their contract. Maybe lesser of an issue with straights and tractors verses vans? I don't know. The one place I...

There you have it. Over the years I have pulled and added trucks and had no issues. But you are correct.....you need to know what your contract actually says.

    Leaving panther beware

Ok.....but you haven't said what all these multiple charges are? I am just saying we haven't had any. You said "they put charges on top of charges " Trying to understand exactly what that means.

    Leaving panther beware

What kind of charges? We haven't had any issues. Then again, is it because I am a fleet owner according to the other post?
