    Log book for vans

I think it will matter for only marked vans (logos on side) or a van that carries commercial plates. Talks already in progress in NY relating to commercial vans

    PC Miler vs. ?????

PC Miler I think currently has over ten versions according to Panther. The other one they use is Rand McNally. While better than HHG, the routing can be off because it doesn't always use truck routes. When we compare using our computer and odometer readings, PC miler is always the closest.

Owners..Time to put up! Re; Fuel Surcharge

I heard the same thing with landstar not passing all of the surcharge to driver. But I as well have nothing factual to indicate otherwise. I thought there was a investigation by ooida on this but I can't be certain. With their system it could have involved one of the agents and not nessessarily...

Freightliner Trucks: Poor quality and service?

RichM Since you live in Jacksonville I have had excellent service from KW on commonwealth. If you need generator or a/c work, truckgen down the street is excellent. Klause and Dano do a great job and I have never had to wait, or had a job that had to be returned. Reasonable rates, and actually...

Owners..Time to put up! Re; Fuel Surcharge

It is still pretty sad that many companies feel the urge to rip-off their drivers. Why a company doesn't pass 100% of a fuel surcharge is beyond me. If one is stupid enough to work for someone once it is discovered it is their own fault. The problem in most cases is that they don't know until...

    PLEASE HELP THE NEW-COMERS

I wouldn't agree to anything that requires a year commitment. With the ups and downs of this industry you could be shooting yourself in the foot and not have the option to move to something else. I would find a good reputable owner and drive for them with no time period commitment. It is not...

Freightliner Trucks: Poor quality and service?

From my own experiences, freightliner has built some poor trucks. The ones I have had in the past were not of that great of quality. With the exception of Dothan Frieghtliner, the numerous dealers we encountered were a joke. Even the smallest repair would take a week or longer. And numerous...

How does everyone care for the floor of their box?

RE: How does everyone care for the floor of their They make a epoxy sealant that can be used. Any sealant will not last forever. Also, watch the bottom of your floor as salt rocks ect will rot out the bottom. They have a sealant-undercoating that works well. Most trailer dealers have what you...

RE: You need to have your kentucky # posted on the I quess you are saying you must have a seperate sticker for KY if you don't have a IRP sticker? We were stopped two weeks ago but had no problems. They gave us a dot green sticker on the window and that was about it.

Empty weights, life expectancy, class 7 vs 8

class 8's are usually better than 7's. We have a T300 which is kind of in the middle. It is a class 7 but with most components being class 8. Same deal with a 330 pete. 11 mpg. or better is not likely out of a class 8. The best I have ever heard of is around 8 under ideal circumstances. Even a...

    Tri-State: Fact or Fiction

It is no secret I have been very critical of TS practices. Their efforts to change have reaffirmed my earlier posts. It is encouraging to see a change from a company that was giving their drivers a bad deal. I would make sure if one decides to get involved with them, to get everything in...

    a different style truck

Hopefully I can give a little insight to the RV/expediter. Tony is right in the fact some get way over there heads in truck costs and payments. We bought a used (repo) truck for $50,000 and have no payments. The first owner thought he was Dale Earnhardt Jr. and went bankrupt after 3 months...

    a different style truck

alot of drivers may be interested in this setup. What do they cost new? We like the shower and bathroom in ours and it could help the fleet owners in being able to retain or recruit drivers. We wouldn't run a truck without it now. We have gotten way too spoiled I think.

Well, the cart is officially ahead of the horse!

RE: Well, the cart is officially ahead of the hors For what it is worth on wiring. Never use those blue plastic connectors. Waste of effort and money. Our truck had a couple of those and had to replace them. I would go with sealed harnesses and led lights. If you have to make a connection, I...
