    The FECC suggestion/complaint box

Once again, we just finished two back to back loads and are laid over waiting to make a Monday delivery. Thinking that we will have the weekend to rest and get some non moving sleep we planned to sleep late on Saturday. Then at 0700, 0730, 0800dispatch is calling with a load opp that picks up on...

What is your bottom RPM you will run for.

Please keep turning down those good paying dry loads. Those of us without reefers are snapping them up and running better than ever. Thanks:D

    Nations Express........

I have never met TJ, but from reading TJ's different posts I get the feeling that he is an extremly upbeat happy guy. Lots of energy and optimisim about where he is and where he's going. A my glass is half full kind of guy. I would not blindly follow him, but I do enjoy reading posts from...

    alignment problems

Back in the 80's I drove for a company that inflated the left steer tire to 100 psi and the right at 105 psi. When I asked why the shop mechanic said it was because all the trucks pulled to the right. He also said it improved tire life. I do not know how well this worked, but I don't remember...

    Feeling the Love

It's good to hear that dispatch backed you up, as they have done for us in the past. It's nice to know that someone has your back. And it is good to acknowledge when someone does it right.

    Comments From Dispatchers....

We did a run recently that needed two E trucks and our D truck all picking up and delivering at the same location. Each truck had it's own follow vehicle with two drivers escorting us. One of the E trucks was an outside carrier. The outside carriers truck was a beat up looking piece of junk. The...

    alignment problems

Did you have the rear axle(s) aligned? An out of alignment rear axle will cause the truck to pull to one side and cause uneven tire wear.

    Comments From Dispatchers....

I have never had a dispatcher comment on our requested rate or tell us how to run our business. But I have had a dispatcher get mad and demand that we take a run that we did not want due to the delivery location. I told her we would do it for double our normal rate because I would have to...

    Feeling the Love

Phil, Just curious. Was the courier upset about having to wear the seatbelt of having to stay in the passenger seat? What was she wanting to do? Lay in the bunk watching TV while the two of you hand fed her bon bons?

What is your bottom RPM you will run for.

Being offered a load at low pay is not the same as accepting it. I just came back from a 9 day solo adventure. From the time I left home until the time I parked at home I made more than $1.30 per mile including deadhead. I was offered many loads below $1 a mile. That doesn't mean I have to take...

What is your bottom RPM you will run for.

From home, No. To home, Yes. I dead headed 440 miles on Friday on my own to pick up my wife. 90 cents a mile would have been better than paying my own fuel.

    insanity finding a good driver

Being a nice guy and picking the driver up or fronting him fuel money to get started will most likely come back to bite you in the a**. I owned construction business' for 27 years and I can tell you that once some of these guys see you doing something nice they will continue to hit you up for...

    TA fuel discounts getting smaller

I have not noticed TA's being higher in price and after looking at my fuel discounts for the last 10 transactions I was suprised at how large the discount is. Most of my purchases were in the southeast. I am happy with the discount and very happy with the new Ultra One program linking TA and...

    TA Menu and food choices

I would like to see a special of the week available at all of the restaurants and a special of the house, unique to that particular area. Like Cajun in Louisiana, beef in Texas, seafood in Florida, crabcakes in Maryland, ribs in St. Louis, lobster in Maine.

    24 to 36 hour loads

As a team our average run length is 1000 miles straight through. I am running solo this month and being offered up to 550 mile straight through runs. Most opps are for around 300 miles. Occasionally on the weekends I will get a longer one.

    Low Paying Load Opps

The low paying opps are still coming in, but they are not repeatedly sending them without adding more money. I've also noticed that they have not woken me up at 0300 for a run 3 days out. I have been running solo for the last week and have been very happy with the pay per mile. :D

Greg, I've noticed something out of character for you. Why have you not asked to have this thread moved to the Load 1 or Tech Shop forum? You missed it on the other Load 1 thread also.:D
