    Considerations...

I'm not building one at the moment either. But I know what I some of things I will do different on the next truck I build. At some point in the near future I will need to, trucks don't last forever.

    Considerations...

I've had an Allison in this truck ( FL70) for a long time. Way back when I first bought it, I was getting 11 mpg. Now, not so much.

    Considerations...

Obviously, but then again, there are a lot of personal preferences too. I was thinking... buying a new truck, what would want different from your current truck? For me, larger living quarters, better fuel mileage and longevity/ durability would be my top 3

    Considerations...

For those who drive a D unit or DR unit, considering your current truck, what would you do/ get different in a new truck? Class 8 or Class 7? Lift gate or not?maybe just a different style/ brand? Larger fuel tanks? More storage boxes? 2 axles or 3? More or different driver amenities ( all the...

What does your screen name mean?

Oh boy, I was w- a- y off. The name conjured up an image of a sniper laid out on a ridge. This description brings a new image. Not offended by hunting. I'm a PETA member. People Eating Tasty Animals

Here we go again...others will likely follow suit

Although it SHOULD, many seem to be indifferent to it. Of course there are the masses who rely on the government to provide for them on the backs of those of us providing for ourselves. Self reliance, responsibility and work ethic seem to be going extinct.

Here we go again...others will likely follow suit

No doubt about it. It will continue to rise. Its kind of like fuel prices, what options do we have? The big difference is fuel is not mandatory for everyone. In a couple of years, my mortgage will be paid then I'll just be working to pay for healthcare. I hope retirees are planning for health...

Here we go again...others will likely follow suit

Healthcare IS my biggest personal expense. Years ago it was mortgage, auto THEN healthcare. Now it is healthcare then mortgage. No autos any more.

    Landstar question

"Never stop learning" has always been my motto. Most of my downtime is spent learning. I rarely turn on a TV. I agree, keeping busy just for the sake of having something to do does not appeal to me at all. Thanks for the great info.

    Carrier of choice

Sounds like you found a good fit. It is a big plus when the carrier and/or dispatchers care about your success too. Carrier and driver success work in tandem, IMO

    Carrier of choice

What a great picture you paint. Awesome depiction. Load 1 just went up a notch in my book. You just don't hear drivers saying they admire or are proud of their carrier much anymore. Thanks for the great reply. Side note: Kudos to everyone at Load 1 , sounds like everyone is pulling in the same...

Thanks. There was good, bad and everything in between. They just took new positions on key elements of our business relationship that do not align with mine. Gala, thanks I needed a laugh

    Carrier of choice

Finding a good fit is key. That's one of the reasons I'm looking for a different pasture. I've been with this carrier for 26 years and lately we seem to have different goals, where before we were both aiming at the same target, now it' s as if we're on opposing teams.
