    the TRUCC act

Why should any business person have to show what they make on a deal? I do not see how this makes any sense to anyone if the load does not pay enough turn it down. As a business person when we get a load offer that pays way above what our minimum is I sure the heck do not call our carrier and...

    Got a Job....

Good for you and good luck! The first six months are a roller coaster of emotions and learning to adjust to the life of an expediter.

    Slope

Yes we have a dash switch but it is tied into the key, turn off the key and the bags fill back up with air. Not a very good system as far as I am concerned.

    Sun Visor versus Fuel Consumption

Thanks Pelicn! For some reason Molly loves to have her picture taken and I think sometime we have more of her then we have of the kids. Terry and I have been working on a chart to calculate our fuel cost versus our pay per mile to see what we will need to be making per mile by the end of the...

    Slope

I thought Leo's idea of dumping the air bags would work perfect for us till I remembered that as soon as you turn the key off the bags fill back up. The level sounds like a good idea also and will work for us I believe. It seems as if we do not realize how bad the slope is towards the front of...

    Sun Visor versus Fuel Consumption

We noticed when we took these pictures we are parked near a Hino that also does not have a sun visor.

    Slope

We cannot get away from parking spots that are on a slope. It seems as if in the past month every parking spot we have found has a noticeable slope. This sure does not make for a very restful night of sleep. It is getting bad enough I believe we are sleeping better while under a load going...

    Question for teams.

We have a pretty set schedule 2:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. works out pretty well with time to stop and stretch your legs when you are on your shift. Bob is a night person and I am a morning person so it just depends on when the load picks up and when it delivers on who will be driving.

    Need opinion of exp.expeditors.

I would have your owner talk to a FedEx Custom Critical recruiter to find out the scoop on getting into White Glove. The recruited will want to know truck information as well as information on you the drivers.

    mileages

On this last load I tracked the DHPL and FCC said we needed to drive 4 miles further then we drove, the DHPU was exact ( we made no wrong turns!!) then on the actual run we drove 7 miles further then FCC said we should run putting us at driving 3 miles longer then the acual load paid. During...

    Co-Drivers perspective

I agree on the WE thing as WE always fuel the truck that part of WE would be Bob as I am doing the paperwork to track our fuel mileage. We do a lot of things but the WE is usually one or the other of us not actually both. The one thing that we do together is what our goals are and how we plan...

    Co-Drivers perspective

We have also over time figured out what works best for each of us. At times Bob is the lead driver and I am co driver and at other times I am the lead driver and he is the co driver. Bob is very good with customers, loading and securing freight, and everything to do with the outside of the...

Items that could improve Fuel Mileage

OVM we are very pleased with the SS tires. They seem to be wearing like iron which is one of the reasons it took awhile to see a fuel savings with running them. We are still pleased with the ride with the tires, the traction with the tires (except in mud), and also the fuel savings we are...

    Sun Visor versus Fuel Consumption

I think we will need to wear our sunglasses more often then we used to but I see no problem with that. We have run in pretty heavy rain and did not see any differences from having the visor and not having the visor.

    FEDEX CC Recruiting unresponsive!

That is odd that as Owner/Operators our business seems to be doing very well as an Express truck. Drivers seem to have different opinions then owner operators do. I also believe right now as a new owner operators you cannot get into White Glove. The only way to do this is to go to work for an...

    Sun Visor versus Fuel Consumption

We have all heard how bad a bug deflector is for your fuel mileage but we recently learned that the sun visor also can play havoc on your fuel. As a test Bob took our sun visor off of the truck and we immediately saw a jump in our mpg. Our fuel mileage has increased .2 miles per gallon since the...

    Unsure

I also wondered after two years still getting butterfly's that seems as if that lasted a very long time. I would think you will have to decide can you live with the butterflies and do what ever it takes to get over them or does that fear rule your day? I had horrible butterflies whenever...
