    This Could Mean Trouble

I have to wonder how FDCC is going to deal with owners that can no longer go into California once their 2006 model year truck (or older) no longer complies with the Ca emissions rules? Could it be that their 10 year rule for class 8 trucks will be exactly that? Will they tell the owner "replace...

    Still hauling FedEx Freight

We may have recently left FDCC to go into a new area of expedited freight but that does'nt mean we don't still get to haull freight for FedEx. Today we delivered a very large jet engine to Memphis,Tn from Chicago. It belongs to a FedEx Freight jet and is to be installed at the Memphis...

    First Run w/ new carrier!

Did not realize that the avatar can't be enlarged if clicked on. We customized our logos on our truck since our carrier allows this. The trucks in the fleet come up with thier own ideas and some are pretty neat. We we able to match our truck colors to!

    First Run w/ new carrier!

That was our first tarp job in more than 25 years! Depending on how much climbing I feel like doing we either tape the excess strap as shown in the photo or we will place the strap as Ark suggested. Oh, did I mention that I have a fear of heights? LOL The roll of tape was a freebie to!

Ways you are cutting back to save $$$

We got rid of our custom reefer trailer and the high monthly payment and cost to maintain it and bought a less expensive stepdeck trailer with a lower monthly payment and less maint.

    First Run w/ new carrier!

This was our first load with our new carrier. As you can see we traded the reefer box for a custom built stepdeck. The change in carriers has been enjoyable for us. Although we still do expedited freight we will be hauling a different type of freight than before.

What I really think of FDCC

I know I've thrown some negative ingredients into the pot lately, but here is how I really feel about FDCC. In the just shy of five years I have been with the Fed they were good to us for the most part. Afterall, I was able to get out of hauling grocery warehouse products and tractor parts in...

    Reefer Relocation Charge

Our Contractor Coordinator contacted us by phone Tuesday morning (5/27/08) to inform us that effective 6/1/08 FDCC will no longer be paying reefer relocation. She also indicated that the CCs were calling ALL reefer units to inform them of this change. So, this is not rumor, it is fact. Your call...

    Reefer Relocation Charge

Ever since we've been with them they did, but they won't be anymore! Can we say "lets be more competetive" and give the customer a break. Surely the contractor's going to benefit from this change and see more money, right!

    Reefer Relocation Charge

So how does it feel for all of you high dollar reefer units (like myself) to be informed by your carrier that they will no longer be paying the truck reefer relocation? We got our phone call today giving us the good news! Instead you just get the regular deadhead rate as I understand it. For...

    My trucks have been busy.

With our carrier back haul loads have not been an option for us, can't afford to haul for the rates they pay. That's based on information from others that we know that have done them to get home, etc. Shouldn't there be enough expedited freight availible not to have to rely of the cheaper back...

    My trucks have been busy.

Are you talking T/T units or straight trucks when you say your trucks are busy? We stayed fairly busy when we owned our DR-Unit. When we purchased the T/T thats when we saw the change.

    Very Disappointing numbers

How does my making a public observation about one type of service thats offered to the customers appearing to be slow (at least for me) turn into the above quote? My "credentials" have nothing to do with the number of temp assured loads I get or don't get. So, I guess if you're a super team...

    Very Disappointing numbers

So I guess that if I had explosives and ammo along with radioactive credentials, plus had a shorter wheelbase tractor so I could go into Canada I would be getting more temp assured freight? When I hired on over four years ago it was not a requirement to have these credentials to be in White...

    Very Disappointing numbers

Since Jan 1st,2008 through today we have averaged 1.6 temp controlled loads per month in our ER-unit. Granted, we've not taken our trailer to be recertified for T-val. But, in talking with several of our T-val friends we're told thats also been slow. Sounds as if we've not missed much there. We...

    Taking your shower!

Yes, its only soapy water but, soapy water equals slippery surface which equals potentual lawsuit! Case in point, if somebody were to walk across the "soapy water" and fall and injure themself, would'nt they most likely sue you? Would'nt the property owner claim that you were illegally dumping...

    Taking your shower!

This thread is meant to simply ask those of us fortunate enough to have showers in our sleepers, when and where do you use your shower? Does your shower have a holding tank? Do you contain the wastewater until you can dump at an appropriate location (offsite), or do you just dump it where you...

How Does it Feel to Buy Fuel?

Here's a couple of questions to add to the pot: How long are you willing to accept loads (one after another) that only produce enough of an advance to pay for the fuel required to complete the run. Then what, you wait for a settlement for the rest of the run pay. Do you worry about acceptance...

    FEDEX CC Recruiting unresponsive!

When you are expected (at the customer's request) to "campout" 24/7 on a customer's load, "Camping Trucks" come in real handy! LOL
