    Extra battery

I've used the hillbilly method for 12 years. 2 walmart deep cycle group 31 marine batteries (cheap, can be charged by your alternator) and a cutoff switch with a big red plastic key. I wire to my van starter battery for charging, and disconnect for parking so I can use my fantastic fan and...

    Carriers, riddle me this

All that "regulation" stuff has a cost too I'm sure ;)

    Carriers, riddle me this

I still have a hunch a driver going out once a week for $500 more than covers back office for that unit, assuming like me, they pay everything save cargo insurance (and large companies self insure, right?) Now taking care of a large customer with diverse needs...all I know is picking a load off...

    Carriers, riddle me this

From this perspective, the Load 1 app seems like a game changer. Cut office costs, and give the driver more control makes them happier too. That's really what I'd like to see. An uber style app that lets you pick and choose

    Carriers, riddle me this

Thanks for the answer. Hard to wrap my head around the perspective from the other side. Since that is an unknown cost to me, I'll have to do some digging to see if I even CAN grasp that From a driver's perspective, you want to know where the 35% goes, all you know is, it's nice to not answer...

So, no issues then. Great! :D (Edit: I give up. School buses, hollowed out motorhomes and small straights)

    GMC vs Ford

I'd still like to know if they CAN mess with an under 10k. Pretty sure an under 10k loaded to over 10k is now subject to DOT rules, dually or no dually. Providing someone actually stops and weighs it I'm gonna stop wondering before I confuse myself any further

    GMC vs Ford

Lots of info and experience in that one. I guess the stories I've heard would have been the 3 valve...and that price for engine! I'm not getting a reman Sprinter 2.7 for 3 grand You have a light van. The duallies weigh out around 7500 lbs or more, I think that's everyone's issue. And the reason...

Spec'ing a Straight Truck for MPG

What's funny, is FlyingVan saying he wished he'd moved to straights from vans a long time ago, and you saying you wished you'd moved to vans from straights a long time ago :p Anyway 2 votes for heavy straight = not worth it for expedite. I basically wanted it cause I don't know how to place...

    Carriers, riddle me this

A little one sided, no? I've been available 37 days straight and had 5 runs... But explain WHY. 10 full time trucks and 10 part time = 10 more than 10 fulltime trucks (to me) Here's my reasoning. A truck available once per week, is one more chance for extra money for both carrier and driver...

    GMC vs Ford

Actually there isn't anything to be confused about. Guido's is SRW I believe, under 10k Without a pic, I can only surmise SoG is dually...with all that entails...
