    The Trump Card...

She got it quite right, IMHO. I have a pretty good idea how people all over Pennsylvania think (53 years there will do that for ya), from suburban liberals to upstate country folks, and yes: once you leave Philly and its burbs, we can be very conservative.

    Hello August

Avon to Chicago area; now at Pilot in More for a shower, then hang out at the Petro across the street?

    Hello August

It was supposed to be an all-season tire. Its axlemate wasn't so hot, either, and is now in the recycle pile at the tire shop. I bought two new Cooper Discoverers. There were no parts problems, and the alignment wasn't far off spec. Now enrt to Avon, Ind.

    Hello August

How's this for a kerblammo? To make matters worse, I was loaded. Twenty minutes from the drop. But, that's not the half of it; when the service guy comes out, he can't get the lug nuts off. Seems that whoever had the wheel off last, whether it was my inspection mechanic or a tire place, torqued...

    non cdl truck?

You may be right, however, if you haul hazmat in a Chevy Spark, it's probably radioactive

    non cdl truck?

If you're hauling hazmat in a Chevy Spark, it's a commercial motor vehicle. Lettering, placards, CDL with endorsements, the whole kit and caboodle.

    Driving in parts of pa

Your dispatcher should have been shot, telling you to use 30! Two lanes, mountains, little towns? It's hella out of the way, but I'd probably use 68 in WV and MD, to 81. At least it's interstate.

    Hello August

After 11 weeks oos due to a foot infection, we're back in the game. Pittsburgh area to Marshalltown, IA. First some sleep, then to the J in Altoona for a looong shower :p

    Cargo Van Next truck, maybe?

The space over the cab I was thinking might be a good place for an AC. I could always install a wing fairing in a pinch, too

I checked: 3.42. I don't care how fast it is, as long as it works :)

Insurance coverage and the "multi" carrier model

I've always had to tote my own cargo insurance; early on it was$10k, nowadays $100k & a million in liability. I think that's reasonable, but it's a challenge to pay Flo $550 a month when there's people trying to get you to run for chicken feed! I am a multi, two companies, and at least one of...

    Cargo Van Next truck, maybe?

The van I have now has a factory separate cooler, but yes, I've been a fan of separate coolers for a long time. For the life of me, I can't figure out how you're supposed to keep your transmission fluid cool by running it through a blistering hot radiator

    Hello August

Hopefully not the J. Got ripped off by a counter person there once, and the showers are tiny. I haven't tried the other 'stop yet (I forget which it is, TA or Petro). I now just go to the J north of town when I'm stuck in B'ham.

    Dkp express and other questions

Can't answer concerning DKP, but as far as the Sprinter is concerned, the Ford Transit and Ram Promaster are good alternatives. That said, look long & hard before you leap into this; the van market is extremely overcrowded.
