    I'm getting paid how..?

Our owner pays for fuel, but we still track that expense as if it we were paying. I would recommend doing the that for newbies starting out because it sure is an eye opener. We drive 60-63 mph for the most part to conserve fuel. We have, in the past, paid for fuel out of our pocket to go home...

What is your cost 2 run per mile?

Dreamteam, You asked about CPM, and you've been "given" the information, but you have to look at it, absorb it and apply it to your situation. If you honestly look at the way this thread has progressed, you will see that many people were willing to help you in your search for information, but...

    Lighting

Greg, I just did a search for Projector Ellipsoid System Halogen Headlamps, and all I came up with was links for "automobiles" do you have a link for these for big trucks? Am I being stupid? Does it matter the vehicle? :(

    Almost Lost It!!!

Congratulations on your first year out! :) I hope you can get out of Portland too. We learned the hard way that Portland isn't the most load friendly area for our truck. Remember, the load is only a good one if you don't get stranded.

What is your cost 2 run per mile?

The road you refer to "Officially" has been referred to, incorrectly, as the "Stremnaya Road". It's called the North Yungas Road. Just a quick "google" search shows many websites debunking the mis-naming of this road. Good pictures though :)

    no loads after oriention????????????

Alborada, Did I understand correctly that you changed companies so that your husband could be home more often? If so, why did you change to an Expedite company? Most often expediters stay out on the road for longer periods of time. I'm confused by the language, but I am willing to try to...

Leo, this is a great point! We have a set of radios, but didn't use them because we had our phones. Next time we're home, I'll be digging them out again. :)

    Hey Panther cargo van drivers

The fleet message (in part) said it would be a "recorded message" of FAQ's received by owner/drivers via email. It also said it would be available on the owner/drivers web.

    H/W Team Question

We don't have set shifts. We split the driving, hubby usually opens doors, I usually back into the dock, either one of us takes care of paperwork at the shipper/receiver, I take care of the paperwork for the run. etc. We just swap back and forth, if I ended driving he starts the next shift, and...

    Why Do You Go Home?

Someone mentioned motorcycles...that's part of the reason we go home. If hubby doesn't get to ride his bike at least once or twice every few months there is no living with him. We go home to take care of things at home. To recharge the mental batteries, to sleep in our own house...

Panther rolls out new Board position and em program

Moot, there was a similar system at FedEx. I wish Panther would go to that type of system, it would be very simple.

    Great New Toy

We also use NeatReceipts and until we had to purchase a new laptop with Vista on it, it worked great! With Vista, we had to purchase the latest upgrade to NeatReceipts, with that, we now have a problem. When printing a copy of the receipt/document it prints "shrunkin" images. The only tech...

    straight trucks & truck stops

With the nose/turning radius this Star has....we are a "real truck" We just don't bend in the middle and sometimes that can also have it's challenges. Sometimes I still drive like I had a 53ft trailer. Going waaaay out into the intersection to make the turn. Or doing a setup to back...

Panther rolls out new Board position and em program

I am adding these "boards" to Streets and Trips as pushpins. In the list, I've discovered quite a few of the listings that have a zipcode listed that is no where near the town that is listed to match it. So which do I mark, the town or the zipcode? And just like others have stated, how far...
