    Straight truck to tractor trailer

If he could hire a co driver with several years of verifiable experience would a carrier except them. That way he could gain experience and make money.

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

He's going to buy it if he can. He has to arrange it with the trustee of his uncles will. He just doesn't know what to do with it. As asked in the OP, would anyone let him run it? Or would he better off selling it at a profit and pocketing the cash?

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

No living relatives except my friend and his brother. He was thinking of selling his straight truck and giving the flat bed a try. It would be a shame to give it back to the bank with so little owed. I am not sure of the amount but the payments were around 2k and there is only about 10 left.

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

The truck is a 2008 KW. The trailer is a 2009 step deck. The sale is due to the death of the O/O who was my friends uncle. He is thinking about buying it for what is owed, which is very little. The question he has is what would he do with it other than resell it?

    Straight truck to tractor trailer

In talking with a friend today who is also a straight truck operator a hypothetical situation was brought up. If a straight truck driver were to purchase a tractor and trailer would any carrier lease them on without recent experience? This driver has a class A CDL and more than 3 years OTR...

here ya go you guys 1 for everyone

Leave the trucks white. Otherwise everyone would think that you are advertising for an expedite company called RS. That was another reason for suggesting the move of the RS logo to the sleeve.

    Sending 1099 to your Carrier

Why bother? It's already a tax deductible business expense.

here ya go you guys 1 for everyone

I like the design, but I think it would look better if you removed the word "by" and moved the Road Shredder logo onto the outside of the sleeve. That way you could make any type of shirt design you wanted and always have you logo in the same place.

HOW do big rig drivers do it?

Wow. That was an interesting post. It certainly added new information and addressed the OP's original question. But seriously, if you do not enjoy reading these posts and this forum, why bother? I do not enjoy the banter I hear on the CB so I simply do not turn it on unless it becomes...

    something to think about.

Think of all the different personalities we have on EO. MXZane is original and enthusiastic to say the least. He is probably the youngest active member on EO and has taken all the ribbing and maintained his composure quite well in my opinion. Sometimes it's refreshing to hear from a new voice.

Tractor-trailer and cargo stolen in Detroit...

I hope you find your truck soon. If the driver is with the truck is it stolen or just missing? The driver could be parked somewhere sick, injured or worse. Is the truck being held hostage by the driver? It seems there is more to this story. Enquiring minds want to know.

    Express-1 Straight Truck rate increase!!!!

Good deal. Maybe this will start a rate war where the carriers can all try to pay more than there competitors.

    Weekend Weather

Since I am stuck at home for at least another week I decided to checked my local weather forecast. For the next 5 days, highs around 80 and lows around 50.:) I think I'll wash the truck this weekend.

HOW do big rig drivers do it?

While driving a TT back in the 80's I was on I 95 in Melbourne, FL during a heavy rainstorm. Traffic was moving at about 45 MPH. As I was going around a curve I had a 4 wheeler in front of me hit the brakes hard. I was not following to closely, but I still had to brake hard to avoid rear ending...

    Hands on loads

When we went through orientation at FDCC 3 years ago the instructor referred to them as fingerprint loads. And where we live in North Florida a gator is either a large lizard looking thing with a good tastin tail or a fan of the University of Florida athletic programs.:)

    Help with computers

Toshiba. You can't kill them. We are on our second one and our old one which is about 7 or 8 years old is still working. Walmart has them for around $399. It has a partitioned hard drive. If it gets a nasty virus you can always restore it back to the new in box condition.

As heavy as those tubs are, wouldn't six empty ones about max out the weight capacity on a Sprinter?
