    Anyone run super singles?

Bob clarified that we have not been running the tires 5 years it is closer to 4 years. The tread depth gauge is used often on our tires and the tire wear indicated we would reach the 600,000 mile mark. Our wear rate per 15,000 miles indicated we would get should get close to the 600,000. We...

    Anyone run super singles?

Phil there is not a perfect tire on the market. Each has plusses and minuses. The fuel mileage we see with our wide based singles far out weigh carrying chains to fit the tires. The automatic chains weigh way less then the throw chains. That is an old post on the winter Canada issue...

    Anyone run super singles?

We have been running wide base singles for approximately five years. No problems. We have them on our drives as well as our pusher axle. When we bought this truck we exchanged the duals the truck came with for wide base singles. We run Michelin XOne XDA Energy We run the Pressure Pro...

So you have a gun in your truck?

I do not know of any companies that allow guns in a truck and as a truck owner we would not have a gun in the truck with the laws the way they are. We also go to Canada and I believe that is a felony charge having a weapon in the truck.

So you have a gun in your truck?

FedEx has the same policy NO GUNS. I also wish we could carry our guns for a different reason. Bob and I like to shoot clay pigeons and i am learning target shooting. It would be a great past time.

    Pay a good book forward...

I get most of my books from Audible and download them to my I-Phone for convenience and this works great. I have found I cannot listen to a book and do nothing so when stopped I like to read a book. I do not have a Kindle yet but it is in my future. I have a Sony E-Reader and have found many...

    Pay a good book forward...

I agree with you clutter drives me nuts in the truck. I do not like tripping over things nor not having room to set something down on a surface. I also do not like anything on the dash as the reflection in the glass distracts me. That is what we also do with our paperback books as why not...

Truck Driver Now Maybe Cargo Van?

We live just north of Saint Louis and we can go three months without going through the city! Amazes me how often we miss it and just have to head for home. As a solo I think you would be able to get home more often as you would probably have good loads in Chicago as well.

    Big Thanks to Expo Attendees!

Ray I had an aha moment a few years ago on how much our lives depend on our heaters working. We were up north and our generator started to gel and my thoughts went crazy with "what if" our generator and our truck were to both gel when the wind chill is in the negatives? What if our pet was...

    Electronic Rumble Strips LDWS

The LDWS reminds me of a GPS in ways.... It is what it is and that is an aid if you follow it blindly like some do to a GPS you are going to run off the road at some point. As of now we are the captain of our ship and we have aids to help us, when we forget we are the captain of our ship and...

Moot this one will become mandatory there is no doubt in my mind as it has been proven to save lives. I like the idea we can buy it if we choose to and in someways it reminds of the EOBR. Right now we like the EOBR and in time the EOBR will become mandatory as well and become a complicated...
