Any interest in an activist drivers group?

I'm confused. Is this post satire? Seriously, these guys get paid BY THE HOUR. If you attempt to make their jobs hard, just who do you think will win those battles? Here's something I overheard an old-school convict telling a 'fish'....fresh off the bus inmate, when dealing with prison...

The C-Unit is making a come back.

In a team operation, it sure can. I strongly believe it will support a $200k D truck.

The C-Unit is making a come back.

Are they a true "D"? I may be wrong, but I don't know of any of the single-axle D red KW's that could haul 13,000#. I wonder the same thing about their new single-axle Cascadias.

WNY Expediting... Drive first, or buy Sprinter?

Oh.............you're one of........them. Kidding, of course. Which lane to go through depends on which border crossing. Some (ambassador bridge) will require you to use truck lanes. Others have told us that they have been scolded for doing so. Suppose I should have read that last line. FedEx...

WNY Expediting... Drive first, or buy Sprinter?

FedEx has a ton of cross-border work....maybe even regional to suit your needs. Best bet would be to call a recruiter and ask. We do so much of it, that we think FedEx believes we're Canadian, and our dogs get so many treats at Customs, they think it's a fast food drive-thru. Regarding own...

Read This Before Buying a Navistar Engine or International Truck

Don't the new Cat trucks have Navistar engines?

I say your KW dealer just got a promotion from the Yugo dealer. If there's 'axle flex with wide singles, then there is with duals, as well. Did he feel comfortable telling you his product was a POS? Outer edge wear is either an inflation or alignment issue. FWIW, our fuel mileage gains are...

    FedEx Custom Critical.... Good Choice??

Geoff Price is our recruiter, and has been nothing less than stellar to us. As others have said, FedEx does have some warts, but we actually believe they try to shed them. We understand their need to return profit to their shareholders, and believe that they see our need to make ours. As Zorry...

My understanding is that there's only 2- a zero offset, and a 2" offset. I'd bet money that yours would be the zero. Incorrect offsets, loaded heavy would more than likely cause bearing failure. Let's ask Doggie Daddy how many bearings his wife's truck has eaten. DD?

Just have to make sure you have the proper offset on your rims, Joe.

Well stated. I guess comfort level is a consideration I hadn't taken.

    What Would You Do?

Again, I'd say it depends.....on the carrier (or carriers, in his situation). That, in itself, lends a lot of variables. I know nothing about his arrangements, but a few phone calls would decide it for me. Do any of them have any success getting out of that area? Where are you, Preacher?

    What Would You Do?

I'd say it depends. You say nowhere ville. What's the likelihood any of your carriers gets you out of said town on Monday? If it's good, and you'll get a decent rate for all miles, then I'd follow Zorry's advice. If you're going to have to deadhead to get to a better area anyhow, then get...

New Truck Cabs with Reman Parts

You mean, "Not Too Bright" ? I'm kidding. A guy I used to work with in prison drives for them, and is real happy. Info on glider kits is probably available on Kevin Rutherford's site..... Providing Innovative Solutions for the Trucking Industry :: Let's Truck

New Truck Cabs with Reman Parts

Is it just the cab, or are they ordering glider kits? A glider kit is the cab, frame, and steer axle. Wiring harness and drive train are customer-speciifc. Schneider National just did, or is doing, around 6000 of them. They're keeping Detroit Diesel very busy with engine remans.

How far did ya limp the last time a steer tire blew, Jake? I believe there are tons of myths out there from the first generation of singles. FWIW, Dave, Michelin's got an app for that. I think you'd be surprised at how widely available they are. Not sure who pays fuel in your operation, but in...

We bought them in December, and put on in February. Instant increase of .8 MPG. Better ride was the side benefit. All Michelin dealers are required to keep them in stock. Money well spent, IMHO.

    APU Questions

    1. No idea about a place in IL. I bought a used Rigmaster from Heyl Trucking in IA off ebay. We had it installed by Don Bentz' crew, and finish install by Ray at Espar of Michigan. Had a few minor problems, but we ended up selling that truck. 2. What problem is your Carrier having? Ours has...
