    Insurance question

You forgot to add their super-secret, proprietary credit scoring model. That's not nearly accurate as a risk-indicator as they believe it is, but they use it. Heck, if the tote-the-note car guys can do it, why can't insurance companies claim a chunk of the subprime action? Oh, and the fierce...

    Carrier cutting rates

Per centage is better for us, but often, in their efforts to 'buy the market', our carrier offers loads that are ridiculously cheap. I don't fault them for doing loss-leaders, as they are real good at keeping us busy. Most times, they also know that I'm going to have to get more than my 60% for...

    Insight on tractor mileage

This post reminds me of something. When I was sitting in the lounge at the Freightliner dealer in Pacific, Washington, waiting for our nightmare to be over, a driver for Gordon Trucking (they own the FL dealership) was in to get a leaking rear transmission seal replaced. This driver's company...

Do you ever get tired of this?

I think that's office furniture salesman, with a minor in baking grease.

    06 vs 07

Just an in-frame or replacement engine won't cut it. Has to have the DPF. Tack another $16k onto your redo price tag. The options, IMHO, are to take California off your registration, or buy a new (or newer) truck. If you're thinking about TVAL, the latter is pretty much the only option. If...

Opportunity to buy truck we drive!

What kind of truck and how many miles on the odometer? What engine? What transmission? What kind of fuel economy does it get?

Do you have a sleeper in your truck?

Actually have two sleepers. They're both doing it right now, in fact. Sometimes, however, they're barkers, a lot of time they're farters, but most often, they're sleepers. One is 54 pounds and I swear is the result of a canine genetic experiment gone real bad, and the other is 94.5 pounds (she's...

Our Freightliner Nightmare Continues. Your Opinions, Please.

Here's the skinny: We got the Customer Care folks at Freightliner involved just before we picked the truck up. While they're fairly slow, and had to get two District Service Managers involved, they're refunding all of that portion of our bill, minus the oil change (the reason we went in, in...

    Michigan Frost Laws starting up.

What about the Sabres? They can start early, right? Maybe they can use the extra time to figure out that ball-washer thing.

Good news! Freightliner is making us whole. I'll post more later, including what we've learned through this fiasco. Thanks for everyone's input.

Expedite With Tractor and Pup Trailer?

Zorry's right. Last info I received was there were 26 remaining trailers (yet to be used) parked in Green. Best bet IS to call a recruiter.I believe the intended idea was lower cost of entry to do "D" sized work.....used tractor versus used straight. Good question.

Any body having problems with a 2012 sprinter ?

Or maybe it's just a Freightliner. Jus' sayin'.

Our Freightliner Nightmare Continues. Your Opinions, Please.

We have the truck back. Freightliner is now fully involved, as the screwing we're presently getting is from Valley Freightliner. We'll see if FL forces their hand to get them to do the honorable thing. Accepted a load going near there, so, if we don't get satisfaction, I'll be filing suit. I...

Our Freightliner Nightmare Continues. Your Opinions, Please.

Yesterday morning, called to get the update, and the former Quebec resident that works there says, "Geez, we just opened up two minutes ago. I don't know anything." Two and a half hours later, still no update, so I walk my behind down there, and those were the same words I uttered to my wife...

Our Freightliner Nightmare Continues. Your Opinions, Please.

Ha! Lucky Club is the one that turned us away. If you remember my dogs, you'd know why the "aggressive breed" thing is hilarious. Further, "All Pets Stay Free" apparently doesn't, in fact, mean 'all pets'.

Our Freightliner Nightmare Continues. Your Opinions, Please.

Actually, it's a Detroit warranty. The engine-installing dealer claims that it was a complete assembly, and never touched the drain plug. Am I incorrect in assuming that any Daimler/Freightliner/Sterling/Western Star shop should handle this warranty claim?

Our Freightliner Nightmare Continues. Your Opinions, Please.

That's a different one, and one I'll probably look into. I usually do most simple work myself. Thanks for the link. I guess my bigger question, is should we expect to be treated this poorly at every manufacturer's franchisee?

Our Freightliner Nightmare Continues. Your Opinions, Please.

Scott's right. We actually installed one on the M2, but we have an oil bypass system on this one. The oil needed to come out, as there are wear metals on break-in that I believe plugged the bypass filter. FWIW, TA didn't strip it. This was the first time the plug wasattempted to be removed...
