    Ford Transit question.

On my Transit the door opening is 71" from the plastic factory door sill to the latch. Those door latches are most likely installed for a reason. I would not remove them permanently. Occasionally I would need to remove the latch on my Chevy to load freight. I would either replace it once...

    Buying a sprinter van, 2500 vs 3500?

I bought an Oregon Aero with the zip on lumbar back about 10 years ago. Over time the cushion became compressed and hard. When I bought my Transit I unzipped the lumbar thing because my Transit has a 10-way power seat with lumbar support, aaahhh. About a year ago I found a $25 dollar seat...

    Boo ... its October

True, but this time I was dealing with an ABF dispatcher and an ABF customer, who was the consignee.

As long as it is legal it shouldn't be an issue. We're not talking about Barney Frank here. As an independent contractor I take advantage of every legal tax break I'm qualified to use. Not to do so would be foolish.

    Vans... Gas vs Diesel?

I'm on my third gasser. Gas Pros: Initial cost (new) for a van with a gas engine is at least $4,000 less than a diesel. Pump price of gasoline is generally less. No DEF and other failed emission junk. Engine life about the same. Lighter weight. Cheaper to maintain. Easy cold start. No...

    Boo ... its October

Dispatch called the shipper to confirm the pallets were 48x40, 4-ways that could be turned. It all worked out rather nice.

    Boo ... its October

3 pallet night. I've got three 4-way pallets turned sideways, taking up 120 inches, right up to my bed. 120 inches is exactly the floor length I allot my carrier. Dispatch assured me the pallets could be turned and would fit and they were right! I got a bonus on the load that equated to an...

    Ford Transit question.

I haven't hauled a choo-choo train load in a long time. I believe most were deliver direct, leaving the van open for sleeping like that guy we saw with the Connect. If Nytmare's carrier is cool with the mini van thing and most loads deliver direct, a Ford Connect might be a good vehicle for...

Was the frontend shake and vibration there before the stretch job?

    Ford Transit question.

Xiggi and I ran into a guy running a Ford Connect. He was leased to a carrier that mainly hauled railroad stuff. The connect seemed to work for him.

    The Trump Card...

New taxes will be enacted once this program has amassed a huge debt. Like any other government handout, get the people hooked and the program won't stand a chance of being eliminated.

That takes all the fun out it! Why be a vegan if you can't announce it to the world? Likewise for being gay or a white liberal with a black friend. Let the world know.

    Hot shot

Only you can decide if it is a good deal. Was roughly .50/mile a good deal for you? You said he wants to cut the pay to 20%. Is that 20% of the current roughly .50/mile or 20% of the gross receipts for the load. If it is 20% of the gross, will you be able to verify what the gross is?
