In the meantime: Cleveland to Ladson, SC, then Summerville back to balmy Ohio. Hopefully we can head back down south before the weather turns. Currently at Wally World in Urbana; if no run today we’ll go to the J in Vandalia. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    Cargo Van GMC van maintenance

That’s one advantage to buying from Penske; I have maintenance records going back three years on it. Only entries on that record are PM’s done on it. Hopefully soon I can get a transmission service done on it; the van shifts fine and the fluid doesn’t smell, but it isn’t nice and red like it...

    Cargo Van GMC van maintenance

My New Yeller (2015 GMC 12’ srw cube) is the first GM truck I’ve ever owned. Except for my wife’s Buick, we haven’t bought the General’s products since the crappy ones in the 80s. So, I need some tips and tricks on how to keep this van’s 4.8 happy and healthy, as well as the rest of the truck...

    Ms Cortez-how she got there

The message of socialism they’re trying to spread is appealing to the poor and others who lack essential services. And, for what it’s worth, socialism works well.... in the Star Trek universe [emoji57]; that’s because there is no scarcity of resources. Three hundred years of scientific progress...

    EFS card

Yes they do. They’re fee happy though: $1.25 for each transaction, and loading fees from $1-$5. My carrier uses EFS to give me a 25% fuel advance. It’s hella better than sitting OOS because you don’t have fuel money. Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

    Cargo Van New Yeller

Decided to try one of these to replace the late Promaster. I didn’t quite have the stones to go for another brand new van. Should be able to hit the road with it the first week of December. Big question is how to kit it out, especially the bed. As a team, we need more room than a single driver...

    Chevy Express Spartan

My experience with the old yellow van was that on E85 it got about 70-75% of what it would get on unleaded; this means you should only pay 70% of the price of unleaded. For example, if unleaded is $2.69, you should pay $1.87 for E85. I would run a tank of E85 through Old Yeller every 80k or...

    School Busses

[emoji44] wow In my opinion: Six month suspension of driver’s license AND Six points on license AND $750 fine All these on the first offense. Subsequent offenses: double each figure above. Conviction of a driver for these offenses requires that the driver be stopped by the police. If the...

    Chevy Express Spartan

NEVER let the transmission hunt! Ya might lose 1 mpg downshifting and letting the engine rev a bit higher (say 3000 on a gasser), but your trans will tolerate that much better than constant shifting. An automatic transmission’s worst enemy is heat, and hunting causes heat to build up in a hurry...

October 2018 What nots and other stuff

I am, of course, aware. Just the same, it depends on the prior use of the vehicle. I’d venture to say that few if any of these vans have been used the way we use them. Of course I’m only curious. In all seriousness, if I do the Penske thing again, it’ll probably be a minicube (12’ srw GMC)...

Okay, so I need another van, of course. Perusing the Penske website, I find both minicubes and Transits, as well as Sprinters. Some of the Transits and all of the Sprinters are diesel. Question is, do I dare? and under what circumstances? Sent from my iPhone using EO Forums

October 2018 What nots and other stuff

God absolutely was riding with us!!! As for stubborn grit, I’m part looney tunes [emoji12], I love the job, and it’s basically the only half-sharp tool I have in my skill toolbox. I’m so far gone that if I were given any Mercedes I want, I’d pick a Sprinter [emoji16]. Any sensible person would...

October 2018 What nots and other stuff

Been quiet this week, haven’t I? That’s because of last Friday night. Long and short of it, RIP Promaster. We were on the way from KC to Idaho. Near York, NE I needed to look away from the road for a second to turn up my dash lights. Every car since what, 1940? has a rheostat on the dash or...
